Screen grab of letter from MPs, MLAs, MSPs & MSs to the PM condemning UK support for Israel’s actions in Gaza. It highlights a man-made humanitarian catastrophe, including famine, mass killing of children, and denial of aid — violations of international law and the Genocide Convention. It condemns the killing of journalists, defends the right to protest, and also condemns Hamas for the 7 Oct attacks, killings and hostage-taking.
The second page of the letter continues, urging the Prime Minister to act immediately rather than wait until September, warning that every day of delay means more deaths and starvation. It highlights the UK’s obligations under the Genocide Convention and risks of continuing political, diplomatic, and military support for Israel. It calls for recalling Parliament to impose sanctions, supporting a ceasefire, ending arms sales, backing international investigations, and ensuring unimpeded delivery of aid. The letter concludes that the UK’s moral standing will be judged by whether it stands for humanity or remains silent.
The scale of suffering and bloodshed in Gaza is intolerable.
Alongside party leaders from across the UK, I have written to the Prime Minister demanding immediate action.
Parliament must be recalled to end arms sales, introduce sanctions and uphold international law.

Stark warning as NHS short staffing found to 'cause 4,000 extra deaths a year'
A review has revealed the 'life-or-death implications for patients' when nurses and doctors are quitting in huge numbers as NHS struggles with 150,000 staffing shortfall
NHS short staffing associated with at least 4,000 extra deaths annually.
High staff turnover & reliance on agency workers lead to severe consequences, esp. in A&Es.

Wow. According to this image it looks like nurses - whose real-terms pay has declined by at least 20% since 2010 are responsible for driving up UK borrowing. Thanks for clearing that up BBCNews
