In strong organization, leadership starts at the top. In revolution, leadership comes from the bottom. In failure, cowards resort to finger pointing. Leaders learn the lesson, rally the troops, build coalitions, and start again.

Real strength is choosing love in world addicted to hate.
Hate is fear, cowardice, lazy. It takes no understanding, comprehension or consideration.
Love fills the vessel of humanity by embracing all emotions, then choosing the best of humanity

Every year the in memoriam section of award shows like the #Emmys hits me deeper. With each passing year I knee more of those featured longer and more personally. With a heavy heart we honor you

Lives are changed with simple acts of kindness. I like to think Steve met Nita at the gates, showed her where to go, and an army of her beloved recues welcomed her home. Nita Cosat, you're remembered. May you have peace because you brought me so much.

They became my friends. I celebrate them frequently. As life often does, it has taken members of our group physically, but I carry them with me forever.

They wore them every week as a silent protest, a reminder of my contribution and their desire to see more. As a performer, it touched my soul.

Dedicated to not disrupting the show or its legacy, I stood for equity and inclusion quietly behind the scenes. This group and Nita noticed. They made shirts of their favorite D.J. quotes.

I'll explain more in my book, but in 2019, during season two, it became clear to those at our tapings that my storylines, funny moments, and character were systematically disappearing from The Conners.

I take time after each show to connect with the audience. I decided when I was working blue-collar jobs, when I made it back to a life on stage, I would share and honor the experience. Appreciative of our audience and their contributions, never expecting them to pour back into into me so deeply.

If you were part of the audience at Roseanne, The Conners, or The Talk, you undoubtedly knew Nita. She was the warm heart who only knew how to share.

She helped build a group of weekly audience members who changed my life with their presence and kindness.
