Irochigai Series 1 is officially finished! There were a couple bumps along the way but all 16 are ready to go!

They really need to find a new tune. This one was old in 2011

I got my first rejection in years from a show I recently applied to.

It goes to show: sometimes you will be met with “no thanks.”

I would love to say I’ve grown beyond the ability for that to hurt- but that would be a lie. I have, however, learned to quickly move on.

Anyways, back to painting…

From what I heard on NPR New York doesn’t have anything in place that allows for the kind of bullshit Texas is doing- so the process would be longer and likely only take effect for 2028.

When I record a video about my technique I want to make sure it has this kind of narrator and music.

Since I’m trying to hold off showing my newest work until they are showcased at DC here’s an older piece I felt like posting :)

This was a self-portrait I did YEARS ago. Like, 16 years ago? Yeesh.

Considering my metronome has been stuck on “We’re Fucked” since November 2024 and there has been literally nothing presented that could repair it, I’ll go with what I’ve been doing to make sure I don’t go insane:

Sadly, from what I hear, it’s working. The guy’s go fund me already has tens of thousands donated.

Too little too late unfortunately. It’s already been cancelled.

Would love Netflix to revive it- but I feel like that’s a long shot.

Thank you! I don’t know why I went for these dark, blue figures but they definitely feature prominently in many of these.

I’m currently working on a series of 16 5”x5” paintings that are all unified by the same color palette. I’m hoping to make them moderately priced originals (150-300$) and so far I’m really loving how they are turning out!

I’m debating on sharing one/two before my next show or make them a surprise…

Yup. No one should want to start something like that. However that’s the problem with living in interesting times: sometimes you don’t really have a choice.
