This duck has decided to make her nest in the middle of the main tourist footbridge, in defiance of all gods and reason.
The town has ceded to her. We regulate around her. She is the highest authority. Please Do Not Feed Her.
The turnout in small towns across the country has been incredible drawing crowds of thousands. Weโre already seeing over one million in attendance nationwide, and events are still underway. Florida, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Ohio all had especially surprising showings.

I need boxes. Please don't ask me any questions.
When we bought this house, it was a seller's market, and California had just lifted its COVID restrictions. We had to bid, and as we were in Wyoming, I had not even seen the house until after we closed.

They accepted our second counteroffer, which was basically the original offerโa testament to the buyers' market. Now, we have to sell our house before the 60 days we agreed upon.

126 domestic cats in the U.S. have been infected with bird flu since 2022, according to the U.S. Agriculture Department.
Around half of those cases were recorded this year, and many were exposed through food or milk.
Iโve started searching #homesteading videos on TikTok and the variety of folks posting is fascinating and delightful

This time of year is a hard time of year for farm workers as there is very little work. The worker who sent us this pic got up at 4am and drove almost an hour to prune grapesvines at CA minimum wage. She's worried about being able to pay the bills and feed her family. #WeFeedYou

Hello, sun in my face.
Hello, you who make the morning

A landscape photo of the rocky mountains along the edge of the Bob Marshall wilderness. It is autumn and the colors are golden and yellow. There is a meadow with a few buildings in the distance. These are the barn and the tack building of a horse ranch. There are yellow aspens on your left and pine trees on the right, perfectly framing the view. I took this photo on a hike. The house I lived in is just to the left behind the trees. Not visible in the image. The meadow is lined with log fencing.
One of the properties we lived on in Montana was a guest ranch that was opened in the summer of 1929 during the start of the Great Depression. The owners were legends to me. I will forever hold that place in my heart.

Our first job in hospitality, 30 years ago, was managing a bed and breakfast in a huge Victorian mansion. Like most of our guests, we were newlyweds.
