Mining ops in space for ores take place in hardy roving mining fleets. Ships of course vary in sophistication and safety depending on wether they're Alliance or external. Alliance ones mostly look for heavy metals, while externals are not as picky.

Yea. I scrapped Limn (the pilot) from 'Cloudgazer' and put her in her own short story. I already have 3 characters with varied complicated relations to the Alliance. Didn't need a 4th 🫠 The ships just fly themselves for any piloting matter, and sometimes Vela tries. Thats funnier anyway.

It reduces matter to some subatomic sludge they have no idea how to fix or recycle. Leading to big quarantine zones where this first happened. Henceforth all synth tech has been limited to using no element heavier than iron. Which seems to be the limit for now at least.

Completly out of order. Like some artsy brickwall. I write "Bricks" first, mostly self contained scenes I felt inspired to write. Then order them. Then connect them with mortar when I get to it.

The materials for the suit components are sourced from various space mining ops. With advanced civilisations at play their home planets ressources are mostly depleted, so moons and asteroids are next in line. The Alliance itself however could rely on matter condensation and synth processes... (1/2)

Vela had settled in with the apartments amenities. Lounging on the big couch she used the remote to flick through the broadcast channels. It was weird that not everything was on demand. The Alliance had mostly VR programs or streams. Programming was rare, linear TV or broadcasts the stuff of legend or military operations. But apparently the tradesworlds, and in part Consortium, still had at least a few hundred video channels blaring through space. So this was the first time for Vela. She immediately got hooked on a sort of prayer channel. Plantkin in colorful robes were working a set of dums and flutes, a much decorated one in the middle sung a verse and the others repeated, this went on and on. She couldn’t understand a word of their language, the bead didn't carry this dialect and whispered only singular recognizable phrases. It evoked imagery of dry deserts, sudden flares of wind and the hope for a heavenly deluge. The beat was calming and hypnotic. Swelling over the virtual landscape, hills and valleys.

What am I looking at here Internet ppl ? I found that website where you can watch all sort of TV channels. This is from india. It's captivating. One guy says a verse and the rest say/sing it.

Mag 5 is a spaceship and it's avatar appears as a about 2m tall silver robot with a reflective faceplate. But it has a very charismatic voice. It has flowing silver-white hair that can be controlled in its movement (only for aestetics, not to choke someone etc.). Mag 5 puts effort in the avatar yea.

This reads so intriguing. Fantasy but also existential horror with the map being able to lead people astray that much. I'm very curious how the maps are made now.

These vary between sophisticated batteries to micro-fusion cells. Only a few non-Alliance advanced civs at the edge can make the latter. And of course they like them to make them a lot. To keep tabs on production capabilities, quality and technical advancements. (2/2)
