It all started a couple of years ago in a discussion with Mario Mencia about proton transfer in bacterial membranes vs. archaeal ones. I told him we can give it a go, and we found some interesting, unexpected capability of ether lipids to support proton diffusion.

With that note, Happy New Year to everyone. May the new year bring winds of good change and peace (or at least quiet) to our world.

I want to thank the Technion in Israel, which will always be my second home and where I have made so many good friends. Making that decision was one of my hardest, and I am sad that the state of my home country has pushed me away from the workplace I love so much. ->

๐งตAs the year ends, I wish all my friends and colleagues the best in 2025.
For me, 2024 was quite a ride. While some of you may know, I never wrote anything publicly about it. Earlier this year, my wife and I decided to move out of Israel and start a new adventure. ->

It is one of these black science magic that you don't understand in the beginning how this counter-intuitive thing can work, but suddenly it does. Congrats to Amit and Ziyu for this achievement.
