My observation is schools and universities in general have done not a great job of prepping graduates to think critically. I think the broad adoption of AI for school age kids is only going to make that worse. Critical thinking skills is the number one thing I look for in a candidate FWIW

From my time at AWS, we did use AWS for everything, but I personally found the customer experience better than our internal tooling.

At Microsoft, atleast on my team, the tooling is the same as our customers except we are on an insider ring, so we dogfood features first

Yeah that’s super tough. You are right, as a company, your responsibility is to your company and employees, not the greater good necessarily, which goes back to what I think the real solution is. It’s not a company, or some savior politician, but coalitions of normal people making their voices heard

The real solution is in the hands of voters. Vote in all elections, local and national. Tell the politicians what you will and won’t put up with with your vote and your dollars

They don’t push back hard, they move the boundary further and further out. I think they could just push to take the video down like any IP enforcement take down without making it political. This would atleast send a message of “that’s our stuff, don’t use our stuff”

Realistically though I think

I don’t know what I would do in that situation, I’d like to think I would fight them but I’ve also never had that many people I was responsible for. I’d only like to mention that from my observations this administration keeps pushing at the boundaries to see what people/companies will do, and when

@frame.work just wanted to say that I continue to love your laptop. I ordered my framework 13 in 2021 and it’s still going strong. I’ve used it for work at AWS, Disney, and Microsoft. Cannot recommend it enough. Keep doing what you’re doing.

I reached out to Mike Collins office multiple times to ask about his stance on pieces of legislation the last few months and the response was “You can’t expect Mr. Collins to have insight on all legislation being voted on”

I called Mike Collins’ office to ask about the IMLS funding being cut and the guy answering the phone said he couldn’t provide any information on such a niche issue. How are libraries niche?
