Just about to step out to the yard and get the truck rolling. We transport food and everyone needs to eat so there is always something to move somewhere.

A lot of people work on Thanksgiving. Patients don’t magically heal for a few days, so hospital staff and nurses never stop. A lot retail workers. Military stay deployed. But there’s one group who are also away from home and are rarely thanked: truck drivers and transportation workers. Thank you.

There's a Cooper's hawk - a bird that primarily hunts and eats other birds - hanging out in our alley, but it is going to have zero luck catching anything because the neighborhood crows discovered it and are giving it no peace. The hawk is miserable, the crows are having a good time.

Witchy crows 🐦‍⬛

Today I recorded a Common Raven (Corvus corax) in New York's sound shore region. I haven't seen or heard a raven here in years as their populations were drastically reduced by West Nile Virus since the 2000s. I'm so happy to hear these birbs again.
