#amreading Don Winslow's enthralling anthology (and can't stop) pictured on the left because dude is just phenomenal. My stack pictured on the right keeps getting bigger because I keep buying books I want to read and have no real life outside of work and between the covers of my books. #booksky

Every January-February timeframe, I get new releases from a few of my favorites: @gregghurwitzbooks.bsky.social, Mark Greaney, and Robert Dugoni. #amreading Dugoni's latest while traveling and am already decisively engaged. #booksky

My pilot just said to us "Uhm, we need to CTRL-ALT-DELETE the aircraft before we get going again."
Dude, maybe keep that to yourself. This ain't a cooking show; I don't need to know every step of the recipe; just get me there! Just lie to me!

Ready to get into the third book of Charles Cummings' Box 88 series. It's been excellent so far, so I expect nothing but the best. #booksky

Finishing this. Educational & balanced. Expected more doomsaying but it ably explains the history & complexities of the semiconductor industry. If you want to understand a subject that touches every bit of our world's recent history & is entwined in every aspect of its future, read this. #booksky

The closest I get to slowing down my ever-humming brain is to do activities that have me lock in mentally. This painting helps. It's easy to get lost in. If you need an escape for a few minutes a day, I recommend it.

I get most of my daily 10k steps from walking into rooms in my house, forgetting why I walked there in the first place, then repeating the cycle 3 minutes later when I remember.

#amreading @paultremblay.bsky.social's "A Head Full of Ghosts" and really enjoying the spooky story. It's well done. I needed a change of pace after the fun I had with @aceatkins.bsky.social's "Everybody Wants to Rule the World." #booksky

#amreading @aceatkins.bsky.social's fun ride, "Everybody Wants to Rule the World" and--as an 80s kid--enjoying the heck out of it. It has some "Ready Player One" vibes mixed with the comedic spirit of a Christopher Moore novel. I love it! #booksky

#amreading The Short Drop by Matthew Fitzsimmons. Good stuff so far. That's after reading the EXCELLENT Eric Heisserer sci-fi/crime novel Simultaneous. It was drop-jaw good at times! #booksky

One of the cooler things I gave my bride this year for Christmas: the Aero Garden.
Yes, we open stuff early in our house. Vacation is the only time of year we get to slow down a little to enjoy things. 😆

#amreading "Space Shock." The writing is pretty drab yet informative and the subject matter is important enough that I think defense professionals should read it to understand the Space Domain of warfare. #booksky

I love #crimefiction. The jacket description pulled me in, sounding like a Joseph Finder novel but African-American themed. S.A. Cosby's storytelling is superb; dark and compelling. I could not put it down. #booksky

Continuing to read books by new-to-me authors. #amreading S.A. Cosby's "King of Ashes" after completing a satisfying "Pretty Things" by Janelle Brown. I will read more of both authors, for sure. #booksky

Between Nina and Vanessa, I have to give the edge to Vanessa. She is more compelling to me. But I'm only 25% through the book and the margin is slim.

For fellow #LanguageLearning geeks, I stumbled upon a way to assist our learning. While studying for a course, I noted my Speechify app was reading Chinese. So, I took my list of key phrases and put them on a document I shared to the app. Now, I read along as I listen to phrases read to me.

My younger-than-I-am barber asked me “So, are you retired?”
I answered her, “Um, no.” Then we ceased to converse as I contemplated my mortality.
It may be time for that Groupon facelift in Mexico I’ve been wondering about.
