These things take months, even years, to get across. Warner Bros. isn't going away tomorrow (same with Warner Archive)
May we suggest watching some Looney Tunes? They're still free to watch on Tubi!

05.12.2025 22:57 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0I know people are worried about the Netflix/Warner Bros merger, let me clear a couple things up
1. The deal isn't finalized yet as Netflix will have to agree to some terms from Warner Bros
2. If the mergergets blocked by the government, WB will get 5 billion dollars from Netflix via the break up
This might sound really pathetic but whatever. Collecting stuff on disc is the one hobby that still brings me any kind of joy, and much of that is attributed to Warner Archive always having cool shit to look forward to. So the thought of Netflix possibly shutting that down makes me feel sick.

- WB Television will continue to make shows for HBO, HBO Max, Netflix, and outside platforms

David Zaslav, the king of the world
Zaslav doesn't expect sweeping layoffs after Netflix nabs Warner:
"The intention is that they want to keep most people, because they donโt have a lot; they donโt have a motion picture studio, they donโt have a big gaming business. And so the fit feels very good for our employees"

It also, rather surprisingly, states that HBO Max will continue to be a standalone service... for now.

If Netflix successfully buys Warner Bros., then that means they would technically OWN this iconic 2004 Anti-Piracy PSA, which was originally made by WBโs short-lived division, The Idea Place. Lmao
"Long, exclusive windows aren't consumer friendly"
By that logic shouldn't everything on Netflix be made free to watch after a week?
