I know people are worried about the Netflix/Warner Bros merger, let me clear a couple things up

1. The deal isn't finalized yet as Netflix will have to agree to some terms from Warner Bros

2. If the mergergets blocked by the government, WB will get 5 billion dollars from Netflix via the break up

This might sound really pathetic but whatever. Collecting stuff on disc is the one hobby that still brings me any kind of joy, and much of that is attributed to Warner Archive always having cool shit to look forward to. So the thought of Netflix possibly shutting that down makes me feel sick.

He stated this at a WBD global town hall with his employees, in which he also said that:
- HBO Max "will stay" a standalone service
- WB Television will continue to make shows for HBO, HBO Max, Netflix, and outside platforms

The splitting off of Warner Bros. Discovery's cable networks into Discovery Global was briefly paused during all this merger talk, but is back on.

It is expected to be completed in the third quarter of 2023, before the WB/Netflix merger finishes.
