Dead or Alive was a solid as a rock 3d fighting game series that was easy to get into even if you weren't good at such games. Other fighters in the style always had one wierd control that was off putting or limiting of the 3d space.

Itagaki was legendary in the games press for being confrontational as hell, in the dead or alive/ninja gaiden 1 and 2 era he was always good for a wild quote, which English speaking audiences didn’t often get from Japanese devs. Kind of an asshole rockstar persona, another rare thing in games.

Really saddened to hear this. NG 2004 is an all time classic of course, but I’ve always been a huge Dead or Alive fan.

at some point I really think there needs to be some sort of large scale pushback on Valve for their complete abdication of responsibility in moderating steam forums to every individual developer regardless of whether or not they asked for it, allowing this tumour to completely fester.
