So in addition to systemic changes to how the electoral votes are allotted & what happens if nobody gets 270, we'd also first need another right wing 3rd party splitting the republican vote to get anywhere. They just aren't viable and dont have the ability to become viable as it stands (4/4)

Another issue is we don't have any major 3rd parties on either side currently. If a left wing 3rd party rose to prominence, they would mostly split the left/liberal vote while all the conservatives in the country would unified behind one party and have an easier time getting the plurality (3/4)

If a 3rd party candidate did win a state or two, you would run into the issue of no candidate getting a majority (270) of the electoral votes. If that happens, congress then gets to ignore the voters and pick the president. They wouldnt pick the anti-war, anti-capitalist party. (2/4)

Virtually all states are winner-take-all. It doesnt matter how well a minor party candidate does in a specific area or district. If they dont win a plurality of a state, they get nothing. This was the most successful 3rd party run in history. 20% of the vote but 0 electoral votes (1/4)

But the important thing here is saying "he never expressed regret" is blatant misinformation that acts to shut down debate and discussion. "His regret is insufficient" is subjective and enables people who trust you to read it themselves and make up their own minds.
