Hi, my name is Addison, and asking for help for myself like this is not something that comes easily to me. Over the past months, my life has been turned upside down by a cancer diagnosis. What started as unexplained symptoms quickly became doctor visits, tests, scans, and the reality that I now face ongoing cancer treatment and an upcoming surgery. There are days when this feels incredibly heavy, physically, emotionally, and mentally. But I am fighting with everything I have, and the love and support from those around me has reminded me that Iβm not doing this alone.
While I am doing everything I can to stay strong and focused on healing, the financial weight of this journey has become overwhelming. Between medical bills, treatments, surgery costs, and medications, the expenses add up faster than I ever imagined. This GoFundMe is to help cover: Cancer treatments and related medical bills Upcoming surgery and recovery costs Medications and follow-up care Every donation, no matter the amount, helps ease the burden so I can focus on what matters most: getting through treatment and healing.
If youβre not able to donate, sharing this page or keeping me in your thoughts means more than you know. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your support, kindness, and love during one of the hardest chapters of my life. With gratitude, Addison
One of our longtime members needs our support! Addison is a passionate ally who has given so much of her time & resources to the community over the years. It would be amazing if we could give back & help her with costs as she fights cancer. Thank you for your support

Every week we see more new faces, and as assistance programs continue to be cut and prices go up, we don't expect that to change anytime soon.
We know the small area of town weβre able to work in isnβt the only place where people are struggling.

It's finally fall! It's been about a month since our last distro update, and we wanted to share what we've been up to! As always, weβve had a busy few weeks. We had a delicious veggie stew with corn bread, pizza, chicken and rice bowls, pumpkin curry soup and tacos! As well as plenty of snacks

First of all we want to say a HUGE thank you to everyone who's donated their time, supplies, or funds in the last week. It's greatly appreciated and we're on track to continue our normal request schedule! Without our community we wouldn't be able to do what we do.

At this rate, we can't afford to keep requests going.
The attached pics give you an idea what a typical request week looks like.

Three years ago, we were able to buy requests every week, and get 3 needs and 3 wants for folks. Today, we've had to scale back to a limit of two items per person every other week. Even with that change, our last several request shops have each been more than our monthly Patreon payout.

They're not just choosing from (appreciated and very helpful) donations, but instead telling us exactly what they need and getting it.
Unfortunately, because both the number of people requesting things and prices have gone up, it's becoming financially untenable to maintain.
Laundry detergent, toilet paper, a shoe box, pillows and other goods with the caption "WE NEED YOUR HELP"
Hi, we need your help.
One of the things that sets OAA apart from many other mutual aid projects is our request process. It's something that we believe in very strongly, as it gives some of our most disenfranchised neighbors agency and autonomy.
Help us support our unhoused neighbors! Hell us full cold weather kits! Bring donations if the following items before Nov. 16th. mittens/gloves Wool socks Hats Emergency mylar blankets Hot Hands packs Emergen-C Electrolytes Cough drops Chap stick Snacks
Thank you to Urban Abbey for partnering with us on this! Drop off donations at Urban Abbey before November 16.

Our unhoused neighbors really need the support of all in the community, now more than ever. Show up for your unhoused neighbors, whether that be providing a meal, supplies, cash, or just a chat. Mutual aid is a great way to build community and provide tangible assistance to those who need it.

As a result, our neighbors lose valuable possessions. Tents, sleeping bags, clothing and hygiene supplies need constant replacing.
People deserve to feel safe and secure where they're staying, and not at constant risk of upheaval.
Sandwiches in baggies
Although we work hard to get people the basic supplies they need to make life a little easier, conditions are getting worse for folks. Police and business owners alike continue to harass our neighbors, forcing people to constantly relocate.

Weβve been busy at Street Kitchen this summer! Here's a lil recap of the last couple months:
July was HOT. In addition to our usual supplies at kitchen, a few members went around the community to distribute water and electrolytes to folks who needed it.
We are so honored for the opportunity to work with these incredible kids again, and so grateful to @urbanabbey.bsky.social for their continued partnership. If you'd like to help us continue to make care packages and support our neighbors, you can drop off hygiene supplies at Urban Abbey.
