He was a founding member of our society and vital in its mission. We are deeply affected by this loss. We will commemorate his life and work in due course, hopefully in a way that will do justice to the creativity and genuine open-mindedness which Mario embodied.

It is with profound sadness that we learned about the passing of our beloved friend, colleague, and mentor, Mario Biagioli.
Mario was a pre-eminent scholar in many fields of inquiry: history of science, science studies, media studies, and the interdisciplinary study of intellectual properties. 1/2

We are grateful for the high interest in the workshop and the theme, and hope to continue the discussions beyond the remits of the annual workshop if there is enough interest.

We are very excited about the programme but also have to add that we have had a record number of submissions. This was great on the one hand, whilst also posing us with the difficulty of selecting for the only 12 slots available (and 8 for PhD student pres) from so many excellent submissions 😔
