End of the third quarter, the Eagles lead 34-23 and have the ball at the WAS32 with a 1st and 10 when we get back to it. The only solace I can offer Commanders fans right now is in the previous two meetings the team that led at half also led entering the fourth quarter, and lost.

COMMANDERS TOUCHDOWN - Jayden Daniels sweeps right, cuts back, and finds the end zone to trim the lead back down to two scores in the third quarter. Washington goes for two, and its good to Olamide Zaccheaus. Eagles' lead is now 34-23.

Three and out for the Commanders' defense. That's exactly what they needed other than a takeaway. Now Washington will have a shot at making it a one-score game with the ball back at its own 26-yard line.

It's halftime, and the Commanders trail 27-15 to the Eagles. As bad as that first half was it's actually kind of amazing Washington is still in this thing. Clearly can give up no more than a field goal when Philadelphia gets the ball back to start the second half, though.

Two of the Commanders' three penalties have come on the defense on third downs, and each has led to a touchdown. That, and two giveaways in their own territory, and honestly, it's amazing Washington only trails two scores. The bigger problem is Philadelphia gets the ball back.

Commanders stand up to the try. It's 20-12, Eagles. 1:44 left and Washington has two timeouts. Landon Dickerson, the center that replaced Jurgens is limping bad after that play.

COMMANDERS TOUCHDOWN - Eagles dial-up man coverage, and Jayden Daniels finds Terry McLaurin, who runs the rest of the way in for a 36-yard touchdown. A two-point try is no good. Philadelphia still leads 14-12.

Jalen Hurts SACKED by Frankie Luvu on third down. Brings up 4th and 15 at the WAS36 and Jake Elliott is going to try the 54-yard field goal. Kick is NO GOOD. Eagles lead is still 14-6.

Eagles lead 14-3 at the end of the first quarter. Commanders are facing 2nd and 10, the Eagles' 28-yard line, when we come back. Only one explosive play for Washington in the first quarter, a 23 yard pass from punter Tress Way to tight end Ben Sinnott.

MVP chants for Saqon Barkley as Jake Elliott hits the extra point. Eagles up 14-3, feeling pretty good. Washington is not. Commanders need an answer here.

1 carry, 60 yards, 1 touchdown for Saquon Barkley. Just like that the Eagles have the lead. Bad flow, Commanders defenders tripping over each other, bad tackling, and a quick strike for Philadelphia. Eagles lead 7-3.

Two fourth-down conversions get the Commanders down to the Eagles' 16-yard line, where Zane Gonzalez converts a 34-yard field goal. Washington took 7:03 off the first quarter clock and take a 3-0 lead in the NFC Championship Game.

COMMANDERS TOUCHDOWN - Jeremy McNichols with the second, third, and fourth effort and Ford Field is SILENT. After the extra point Washington is up 45-28 on the No. 1 seed in the NFC. The Lions aren't on the ropes, they're on the mat and the count is on.

COMMANDERS TAKEAWAY - Washington had the trick play sniffed out and Jameson Williams threw it anyway! Mike Sainristil comes away with it - the fourth takeaway of the game for the Commanders, and it's their ball at the WAS34, up two scores, with 12 minutes left.

If not for that phantom facemask this is a three-score game. Think about that, Commanders fans.

TOUCHDOWN, COMMANDERS - Brian Robinson's second touchdown of the game gives Washington a two-score lead. Zane Gonzalez's extra point is good and the Commanders lead the Lions 38-28.

Detroit can't count. 12 men on the field and the yards give Washington a 1st and Goal at the two-yard line.

End of the third quarter, Washington is leading Detroit 31-28. Commanders also have the ball, 3rd and 2 at the DET5 when we get the fourth quarter started.

Good to see this Brian Robinson again. Commanders' running back has 10 carries now for 65 yards and a TD.

Counting the two interceptions, that run by Jayden Daniels is the Commanders' 11th explosive play of the game.
