The sad thing is, the novel FIRST BLOOD is one of the best action thrillers ever written. This is the Rambo that entered the popular consciousness, and it's a goddam shame. The Rambo of the book is a very different person.

Found an old Play It Again, Sam's movie pass!!! For those who don't know, Sam's was a bar in Allston. In the back was a movie theater in which you could eat pizza and beer. Every night was a TRIPLE FEATURE. These monthly movie passes cost 3 bucks, so that comes out to a penny a movie.

Listening to a BBC Radio play adaptation of a John LeCarre novel while I do household chores. And it's a drag how I've reached a point in my life that I'm relating to George Smiley in ways I never have before.

Holy Fucking Shit! Ari Aster's Western/Covid/Comedy EDDINGTON is his best movie! It is WARPED!!! The First Act is a little... meh! But then it erupts into an onslaught of the blackest humor and the most savage satire I've seen since DR. STRANGELOVE. See it!!!

Snickers... M&Ms... red licorice... move the plot forward. Remember when Velociraptors learning how to use doorknobs was a major turning point in a Jurassic movie? Swap that out for candy. Candy is more crucial to this plot than it is in a WONKA movie.
