The missing piece in Canada’s economic resistance to Trump and climate mobilization: new public enterprises Prime Minister Carney's promise at Davos to "build our strength at home" would do well to learn from former Canadian cabinet minister C.D. Howe, who established 28 new Crown corps during WWII

Canadian flag waving against a clear blue sky.

Canadian flag waving against a clear blue sky.

Today, February 15, is National Flag Day of Canada. Our nation's flag is a symbol that unites all Canadian's from coast to coast.

Good luck to all of our Canadian (and Oakville!) born athletes representing our country at the 2026 Winter Olympics!

Over 50 Burlington business leaders joined me this morning to discuss the upcoming CUSMA review, co-hosted by Burlington Economic Development and the Burlington Chamber of Commerce.

These conversations help ensure the Government understands the realities local businesses face.

"There's Nothing I Enjoy More Than Acting In The Theater" - Ian McKellen EXTENDED INTERVIEW
YouTube video by The Late Show with Stephen Colbert "There's Nothing I Enjoy More Than Acting In The Theater" - Ian McKellen EXTENDED INTERVIEW

I’m having a hard time thinking of an interview between two human beings I enjoyed more than tonight’s interview of the great Ian McKellen by the great Stephen Colbert. Every moment of it was a pleasure that I highly recommend… but then came the most REMARKABLE ending that you really HAVE to watch.

I switched to Bluesky a year ago and wish others would too. It's a challenge as a journalist when politicians only use the X platform to send out their messages. But, I won't go back.

Had an Instagram account for years. Too busy/lazy to post much. I'm a writer not a photographer for goodness sake. Decided to post a few pictures with comments on some events. Next thing I know, Meta informs me that due to Canadian regulations, Instagram will not post 'news content' in Canada. Damn.
