This is a long room in a library, outfitted with wooden bookshelves on both side that have two levels reaching to the ceiling. At the aisle end of each case is a whit bust of an historic person, on a pedestal. Mounted in mid-distance, hovering just above exhibit tables in the aisle, is a large, illuminated globe of the Earth.

When #Round turned up, this came to mind--and I finally remembered. This is a piece called "Gaia", by Luke Jerram. It's installed here in the Long Room of the library at Trinity College, Dublin.

1 1/2-year-old fluffy brown eastern cottontail all tucked in like a ball surrounded by dead brown leaves. Photo taken 2.22.2026. Fennel is one of our resident mamas who is overwintering with us again. We rescued her from a hawk when she was just a few-weeks-old! The Western marsh harrier ( Circus aeruginosus ) is strongly associated with marshes, reedbeds, and lagoons. Unlike many raptors that prefer forests or cliffs, this species thrives in wetlands and hunts low over the vegetation. It flies slowly and steadily, holding its wings in a shallow ¨V¨ shape. This hunting style allows it to surprise prey such as: Young waterbirds, small mammals, amphibians, and occasionally fish.
