Two years later, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's far-right government has weaponized that tragedy to carry out a campaign of collective punishment -a genocide -against the people of Gaza. The ongoing siege of Gaza City has trapped civilians in rubble and dire hunger. Roads have been blocked, hospitals destroyed, and food and medicine restricted to a trickle. This is not defense. It is annihilation. The deliberate destruction of Gaza is a moral catastrophe - one happening on our dime. The United States continues to supply weapons and political cover to Netanyahu's government.
