We appreciate Creative Scotland’s efforts in supporting a diverse arts sector but also acknowledge the unique challenges rural and regional organisations face—higher costs, overlooked community impact, and the risk of culture becoming increasingly city-focused.

An Tobar and Mull Theatre stands in solidarity with Cumbernauld Theatre following the recent funding decisions. Organisations like Cumbernauld are vital to ensuring the arts remain accessible beyond city centres. Without them, cultural opportunities in rural areas would be severely limited.

The winning application will be awarded by a professional panel. This bursary is for a single ticket to our Bryan Angus Drawing Workshop worth £450, details here, and is funded by kind donation from artist, Dugald MacInnes.

The applicant must be 16 years old or over, and will be available to write a short assessment after the workshop about how their work or practice has benefitted. The deadline for applications is 2pm, Friday 28 February 2025.

Terms and Conditions. The applicant must live locally and be able to attend the full five days of the workshop from Monday 16 to Friday 20 June, 2025 in the art room at An Tobar, and in the surrounding landscape.

Video applications and voice notes are also welcome. Include photos of three examples of your work and your artist’s statement (if applicable), to our visual arts curator calum@antobarandmulltheatre.co.uk.

Part-time positions available from the end of February to the end of October- daytime hours, weekdays only. £12.60 per hour + share of tips. You must be 18 or over.
