production-grade tools for online safety CAN be built in the public, and CAN be collaboratively developed by engineers across different organizations.

We're proud to announce Osprey and so grateful to all the contributors who made this possible!

In a β€œmust be the right answer” kind of world, probably not binary at all, but maybe winner take most β€œone mentality” to rule them all and other strategies are not as profitable, maybe

I think Karpathy shared a meaningful post somewhere about this that should help you feel less alone but no less lost. We are all lost on why we should be running 4 hallucinating AI all the time but here we are, doing this together, I generally just pray to my heros @hailey.at and @jaz.sh to save me

You’re right about your observation. Startups have to be in the frontier to be viable so those doors closed to young people unless they take on life crippling risk.

PE tends to be about cost cutting and slow growth so they don’t hire enough either

I think we shouldn’t strand people :(

I am just one of the first ten users, investor, and early React Native code reviewers who just believes in Bluesky very much. There is a better Jim who took on all the infra and I believe in him very much !!

Things I am worried about right now

- AI researchers getting astonished by the output of what they are working on

- Increasing headcount is not increasing productivity or revenue enough so hiring managers are less incentivized

- A lot of people stranded without meaningful work

Its our team versus your agents, we’re going to do our best πŸ’ͺ

I wrote an agent in bash last night

It has 5 β€œpersonalities”, pulls a repo down, does some google search, writes its own code, makes a branch, commits, creates a pull request, has its own internal monologue in the comments, then says β€œLGTM”

Still processing my thoughts here πŸ€”

I am timestamping this for myself

The designer who figures out how to remove the need for navigation, settings, and admin panels, is going to own the new aesthetic for the web, and it wont matter what it looks like.

We’re hiring hungry ghost wranglers β€” I mean Machine Learning Engineers.

As well as Typescript, React Native, and Go devs.

For my team, being about the details, creating, sharing, learning skills that can be applied, and trying your best, will help us survive this radical shift in how we design and code in 2026.

Don’t underestimate yourselves, strive for the best βš”οΈ

I can relate to that, I think we should all work together to have a vision for the optimal way to use Bluesky and Atproto, so many smart people here.
