13.11.2025 18:53 β π 40 π 17 π¬ 0 π 0It's astounding how much COβ we put into the atmosphere each year by burning fossil fuels.
For comparison, we all agree that plastic pollution is bad, but the mass of ALL THE PLASTIC humanity has ever produced is only 25% of the COβ we emitted into the atmosphere in 2025.

It's not often you get to tell a positive story about climate. But thatβs what our new #10YearsPostParis report and #infographic let us do:

I'm aware of all his points, having, unlike him, worked on climate for several decades.
This thread explains it all better than I could bsky.app/profile/keta...
TLTR: he is arguing against noone & simply wants more money for innovation when we can already do majority of work with electrification
This single sentence makes me bang my head off the table. Who in the blue f**k thinks there is "too much" focus on near-term emissions.
30.10.2025 14:49 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0My problem is summed up in this sentence:
"To be clear: Climate change is a very important problem. It needs to be solved, along with other problems like malaria and malnutrition"
As if climate change doesn't cause malaria and malnutrition. He doesn't appear to understand systemic thinking
Another billionaire either doesn't understand or particularly care about societal risk. What a surprise!!!
Why did anyone ever listen to Bill Gates on climate change in the first place?
Money, time, carbon, family, distance
29.10.2025 13:38 β π 2 π 2 π¬ 1 π 0Worried about shutdown of the Atlantic overturning circulation #AMOC? The collapse of the subpolar gyre is a likely step on the way to that and could happen a lot sooner. Not quite as bad as full AMOC shutdown, but could bring major impacts already in 10-20 years. Important study on the mechanism β¬οΈ!
