Gojo didn’t leave a key to his apartment, at least not one that anyone had been able to find so far. “Bastard could teleport,” Ieri had scoffed fondly, chomping on the piece of gum that was replacing her cigarette. “Probably didn’t have to worry about things like house keys.” But she at least knew the address, having visited previously, which was more than even Fushiguro could say. Still, Yuta was grateful Fushiguro was accompanying him. Gojo had helped raise him on some level, or at least, they’d known each other a lot longer than the 2 years Yuta had, 2 years that somehow was enough to leave him as inheritor of the entire Gojo legacy. Distant ancestors or not, Yuta felt Fushiguro had more legitimate claim to call Gojo family than he ever had. They pushed their way through the building’s revolving door to the lobby - floors polished to a reflective sheen, walls decorated with tasteful but impersonal artwork, potted palms branching toward the floor-to-ceiling windows that made up the front entryway. It was empty in the intimidating way that denoted wealth. A solid block of a reception desk loomed in the center of the room, and a doorman in a uniform sat behind it. Yuta took a deep breath to steady himself, and strode forward to the desk, Fushiguro trailing behind. “Can I help you?” The doorman asked. The words themselves were polite and professional, but the undertone of his voice clearly indicated he knew they did not belong there. Of course. This seemed like the kind of building where the staff would be required to recognize and address all residents by name. Yuta cleared his throat. “We’re here about Gojo Satoru. I’m the executor of his estate.” The doorman nodded. Of course he’d been informed. Shoko and Yuta and Megumi had made phone calls. They’d been making phone calls all week.
