Same boat, mine was Crow Country. So easy to miss so many games. I've calculated out that I've got about 500 hours of devoted me time a year, once one or two behemoths take half of that there's only so much left to spread around.

Yup yup. I used to play close to every major release mid-2010s, and his year even with finishing more media being a goal, I've played like 6 games to completion, vs IE 36 anime and 33 movies. With games being so big and life being so busy there's just so little room for these behemoths.

Frankenstein (2025) - Arguably the best monster movie maker of all time adapting arguably the best monster novel ever written ends up with a pretty damn great film. It won't be for everyone and does have some issues, but as a big fan of both Frankenstein and GDT I loved it. My #1 film of the year.

Sept/Oct - Spent most of September injured or on vacation, got back to the gym in October but between vacation and Halloween candy have gained a couple of pounds. Can hopefully drop em in November.

House (1977) - like going to the Haunted Mansion ride at Tokyo Disneyland while dropping acid.

Agreed, PLA is my favorite Pokemon game since BW2, but PLZA is probably right behind it and I'm happy it was another unique take on the formula rather than just PLA2, and it makes me much more excited to see what PL3 has in store for us in a few years.

Pokemon Legends ZA - Janky controls, terrible graphics, a jarring lack of voice acting, and a dull overworld weren't enough to prevent me from having fun with this one. Among the garbage are a lot of really fun gems here that make for a great time for Pokemon fans.

Vending Machine Isekai S2 - I never thought I'd watch a show where a sentient vending machine uses telekinesis to waterboard a cultists with mentos and diet coke while lamenting his own crimes against humanity, but here we are.

Companion - solid little horror flick. On the lighter side of horror, essentially a Black Mirror episode at feature length. Hyper-focused around its central theme, but with a compelling adherence to its clever internal rules that keeps it engaging. Sits right alongside similar films like The Menu.

Chainsaw Man: Reze Movie - S1 of Chainsaw Man was already good enough to ruin similar series like JJK and DS for me by just doing everything they did but so much better, and the movie carries that quality foward. Currently my #1 2025 Movie and battling Apothecary Diaries for my #1 2025 anime.

Silent Hill 3 - Wrapped up one of horror gaming's most iconic trilogies with a gem that still completely holds up two decades on. Slots right between 1 and 2 on my rankings, with all the incredible atmosphere you'd expect from this legendary series. A treat to play and a great Halloween game.

Yeah it's a cool one for the collection, but I wish Id get another I can use in my party unlike these last two.

Bring Her Back - Tentatively my frontrunner for Movie of the year. Excellent scary movie without cheap jumpscares, solid thematic basis with a lot to say about child exploitation and abuse victims (and google MD moms IMO), and Sally Hawkins is incredible. A must-watch for horror fans.

Secrets of the Silent Witch - Bocchi the Witch Academia ended up being a surprisingly great time. Fun, heartfelt, and an expertly crafted adaptation on every level, this was a blast to watch and leaves me jonesing hard for a potential S2 in the future.

Witch Watch - cute little romcom with an insanely catchy OP1. And that's about all I've got to say about it. Textbook definition of 7/10, enjoyable enough that I'll probably watch S2 but I won't be counting the days till it comes out.

I bet. I'm jelly, I need to learn how to make basic furniture since everything is either a morbillion dollars or absolute trash from the stores these days.

August - August was a rough health month. Ended up with an elbow injury that knocked me out of the gym until last week, and I didn't have the motivation to keep my diet up while injured. Finally back in the gym now so hopefully September numbers will look better.
