The scene is a pretty big escalation in Denji's objectification of women. It's hard to put into words, but the fact that he summarizes their conversation with him by imagining them talking to him *while* flashing him (when that's not what happened), feels like something he wouldn't do before now.

On some level I get the resistance to it, its not completely unreasonable to assume that Fujimoto might have a blind spot in regards to misogyny. But it's felt pretty clear recently. The misogyny isn't just some incidental aspect of the focus on Denji's hypersexuality, its clearly deliberate

The fandom as a whole has a huge blind spot to elements of the story that are about Denji becoming worse. Because of Part 1, and shonen tropes in general, a lot of people only view those moments as setup for a future moment where Denji overcomes his issues, and not as important moments on their own

Yoru also straight up does the Japanese hand sign for thief when she makes the Gun Goddess.

She's the one who got Asa killed (And by extension Yoru's host chosen) in the first place, she totally has a contingency plan for once the weapon has been created.

I mentioned it in Thabreakmaster chat but I’m guessing the “reveal” is that Asa’s mom was really abusive and controlling, and Asa has been coping with the fact she felt relieved in a way when her mom died. That’s why she’s *so* self-loathing and self-destructive.

it sticks out so much on reread that there's nothing directly confirming this bird to be Yoru, and that Death is the character that gets associated with all the bird imagery, not Yoru

Asa already being a pawn of Death would provide answers for a lot of outstanding weird things in the story.
Why can Death banish Yoru from Asa's mind?
Why does Asa dream of a fixed path she follows, full of dead birds?
Why didn't Death turn Asa into a pawn during early Part 2?

"If you want to live, your body will be mine" isn't a very Yoru-esque line, she doesn't care what Asa wants, but it does fit perfectly with how Death acts. Death is the devil most associated with birds in Part 2, and it was her pawn that got Asa killed in the first place.

Fight Club theory has merit, but a lot of the explanations I've seen gloss over the logistics of why Yoru resurfaces in Asa after she dies in Chapter 98. My personal theory is that *if* Fight Club Theory is true, it will also come with the reveal that the potoo bird wasn't Yoru, it was Death.

Also if Fujimoto was going to have Asa's alleyway be the same one from the past as Denji's then she should probably be in a child form for those moments.

"*I* had lots of fun going to school with *you*" --> "Thanks for all the free food"

Denji doesn't agree with Yoshida here that the memories were precious, to him they were probably pretty mundane, but from a time when he was happier in general

I agree in regards to Denji, but I think it makes sense for Yoshida to view the relationship this way. Part of the tragedy for me is that from an outside perspective Denji and Yoshida's relationship was surface-level, but its also the most meaningful relationship Yoshida's ever had.

It's funny to see how CSMs story clashes with the powerscaling community. The current discourse I'm seeing there is that Yoru is fraudulent for not earning her powerup and getting her strength from world events she didn't cause.

I have some unfortunate news about every devil in the series

Man Yoru's perception-based powers are so ridicuolously powerful, especially now that she's learn to weaponize subjectivity like Asa. Since she views Pochita as her ultimate foe, she can just declare that the fight is for the entire world, and it works.

Excited to see what Fujimoto is planning to do with Death's friends. He went to the trouble of introducing hoodie girl in the first arc of Part 2, I believe they will be more important than most people think

Yeah I think we're getting a continuation of this conversation this chapter.

My current theory is that the body isn't Yoshida at all. It's a dead Fumiko (which it was established 2 chapters ago Death has access to), and that the position of the corpses leg is to hide the more prominent hips.

The first scene is Denji climbing out of the burning building, Yoshida is on the ground outside of the school. Which honestly makes his lack of visible damage even weirder, he got hit by the full brunt of the explosion and flung outside onto the ground.

Also I doubt Fujimoto cares about the physics of it that much but the position of his body is ridiculous. His head is facing *towards* the origin of the explosion, did he do a 360 in midair while also traveling nowhere near as far as Denji?

I think when writing early Part 2 he wasn't thinking:
"Fami is actually Death and I will have a moment where Fakesaw shows up to fight the real Fami and thats where its revealed"

But he was thinking: "Fami is actually Death" + "The real Fami will show up" + "Fakesaw is the twin brother"

I assume he means that he doesn't have a draft of the specific moment-to-moment plot beats past the next few chapters, not that he doesn't have a general plan for where the story is going to go. Things like the Fire Devil and the Death Devil were clearly planned well in advance

Its killing me that the order of events is:
-Denji loses sight of Yoshida
-Denji sees Yoshida's corpse at a distance with no face visible and back turned to him
-Barem immedietaly burns the body to a crisp, rendering it unrecognizable
-Barem looks at Denji and says "Hirofumi Yoshida"
