One interesting feature of this is Tindale referring to a specific area as "Kurung" which are now understood to be Woi-wurrung. But he gave them an autonomous tribal status from early documentation. My grandpa's maps also had this. None of this was self-determining of course.

The Organ Pipes which marks the meeting of the Maribyrnong and Jackson's Creek is the border between Marin-balluk and Wurundjeri-willam clans of the Woi-wurrung.

Today I came along to the Treaty Forum for Traditional Owners wearing two hats, as a Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung custodian and as secretary of the BPU.

The Statewide Treaty Gathering is this weekend, and I'm hoping to see more youth participation in the process. After all we are the ones potentially inheriting this legislation. Whether to come to express dissent, to ask questions or to listen and pass details onto family, youth should be here.
