I am building one that is free, is connected to a search where you can auto-export into the library - would you want to give it a shot?
Any feedback you give me I can work on... Here is what it looks like so far:
It would be good if one day I can do something to solve this. Journals are super segregated and fractured to be easily accessible.
Question: Would you be comfortable publishing in a standardised journal if it is new, has low impact factor, or is not as prestigious??
AI is good for science.
Bad & lazy researchers who do not bother to read what they claim they did are not.
Please do not put the blame on a technology that is and could be super helpful for many things in research & academia if used correctly and ethically. Responsibility is on the researchers.
I am building a reference manager if you would be interested! I have just recently started adding a terminal (the panel below) for detecting problems - would you want to test it with me?
it is free, you can check it out at simplifine.com

Thanks for the reply Tim! This is helpful - www.simplifine.com is free, feel free to try it!
As per labour, can I ask what is the division between time spent for:
wet lab/intervention/physical workload
VS
academic/lit search/review/manuscript drafting?
How is your budgeting usually distributed among procurement, labour, intervention design, software, and publication costs in your current position? Which ones are the biggest pains in the ass?

24.11.2024 23:17 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0When I was 5, I loved science, which I took to be planets and magnets and chemicals and shit.
Soon I realized science was a collective human activity, and these were just the objects of its attention.
Anyway, whenever I read an OpEd on how science isn't political, I think "Are you 5 years old?"
Today I learned that the entire bar is not 1 serving.

Quoting Baldwin is cool but actually reading him cooler.
Not from Baldwin. From Robert Jones Jr.
Letβs not create misinformationβ¦
Sharing Baldwin is cool but reading is cooler. Quote is not from James Baldwin. It is from Robert Jones, JR. and here is the proof: www.sonofbaldwin.com/wp-content/u...

21.11.2024 18:24 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I see - no worries! I would like to understand your take on open-source better, thoughβ¦ if that is the reason. Is there something specific you think we should pay attention to or is it just being closed sourced that is a no-go for you? Especially given how open source doesnβt mean more accessible
21.11.2024 10:08 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Simplifine has a free version. It is not open source. But, to clarify, search is only a part of what we have - you can create project spaces, save and analyze papers you found or uploaded, write notes, and simulate code. Institutions and Enterprises that do research can also connect their databases.
21.11.2024 09:32 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 2 π 0To me building this technology is the best bet towards open research - access everything & have countless LLMs read through the papers one by one rather than relying on close box metrics & citation rankings
