Regarding that last repost, I don't have any inside knowledge about cricket development in Egypt or the reliability of the source, I just think the assumption that now cricket is in the Olympics, countries that want to host need to have some sort of cricket institutions.

Egypt is also creating its first-ever Cricket Federation as it plans to bid for the 2036 and 2040 Summer Olympic Games, aiming to become the first African nation to host the Olympics.

I think that the ECB will be very keen that at least one Pakistan player be drafted, even if it can't make the IPL owners do it, and I think the non IPL owners will realise it will be good for their brand too.

Yeah, the first season would seem the most plausible one, but that would just make it more surprising that no-one has mentioned it in 4 years since. Especially as it would be easier to laugh off.

The food for men only thing is so strange, not that it happened (surprising but not shocking) but that there wasn't someone at the end of their career who's not worried about being drafted who felt they could speak freely about it.

I don't think they really do. South Africa's win probably takes NRR out of the equation, all India need to do is win both games now, and by 1 run will do.

Yeah, we don't have much data to work with. But the data we do have suggests that India are very difficult to beat in test cricket.

I mean, historically that's a strategy that's well outperformed the stock market, and I wouldn't be putting my money where my mouth is, but India had much the better of the last test between the two sides in Australia, have a better team now, and crushed England and South Africa in between.
