Darkthrone - Ravishing Grimness really hits the spot sometimes. It was the kind of album that was there for me in a way that nothing else was at the time. Released in late 1999, but I didn't get it until my birthday in the year 2000. To the Death (Under the King) is one of my favorites of theirs.

Ulver - Neverland vinyl record. Album art is vintage paint by number, artist unknown.

This beautiful record arrived today. I consider Neverland a high point similar to (but a very different album than) The Assassination of Julius Caesar, Shadows of the Sun, Perdition City, Teachings in Silence, Lyckantropen Themes.

Currently on a high with PJ Harvey - White Chalk. I recall the time this album came out. It was a stretch of months where I felt so alive as many things came to an end, and the new chapter of my life at the time hadn't fully begun. When Under Ether and Silence are my favorites here.

I have watched The Chair Company in its entirety around five times now (going on 6) and every single time, more things make sense to me. I appreciate the many seeds that are planted which pay off later even more. Outstanding series. I could talk obnoxiously about it for hours.

Arrived in the mail today. Dark Sky Burial - The Sacred Neurotic. One of Shane Embury's most magnificent pieces of work. As the hype sticker says "A shadow-seeking, genre-breaking journey forged through deep personal reflection and collaboration".

Entombed - S/T compilation. Need to know where that album art comes from specifically. Probably from a Swedish church yard or cemetery. Want it tattooed.

Heading towards 2026 with Entombed. Clandestine and Wolverine Blues era singles/bsides/etc. The Unsane cover of Vandal X is my favorite. 🍻☠️

Now playing Ulver's Neverland. It's here and it's glorious. It seems fitting to close out 2025 with this album.
