Part of my whole plot was that Angel always got thru molt by taking a ton of drugs, but Pent learned to do *self care* over the years and kinda teaches Angel how to have a sober molt, ft Cherri, bc she always helped Angel molt before. Now Pent has to shed with Cherri there too?? 😈

Anyway so when ppl ask me about fic it does make me excited to share and motivates me to get back to it 👀 but I'm also very busy IRL and my job will take 1000% of my time between Nov-Jan.

I think my biggest barrier is figuring out how to write Angel bc he and Pent go into molt together.

Every single element of Like You is built on the alienation and isolation of Pentious. Even the “Nobody here’s addicted to crack” line, which is very much typical Hazbin humor, has some layers.

Right after they said no one's addicted to crack is when he slithered away to his machine. Maybe that was the last straw bc he wasn't gonna sit here and listen to them slander Angel and Cherri.

It takes him about 2 weeks to get thru a shed. Having a month go by is enough time between when he ascends and the trial to get a fresh set of scales. Extra body horror if his wings sprout as part of the molting process.

In Like You the angels say no one sheds skin like he does. So not only is he struggling to figure out how to go thru a shed here, in this new body, but Heaven doesn't know how to help him.

I love the parallel between Pentious and Lute because for them

But you also see how the two are coping in VERY different ways.

Ironic that the one person who could relate to Lute is someone she hates fiercely and wants eradicated
