Honored to recently receive the Revelation 7:9 Award from the Intercultural Ministries office of the Church of the Brethren, recognizing my efforts in racial justice education and activism. Though I couldn’t be there in person, I’m grateful my pastor accepted it on my behalf.

This Republican megabill is a moral disgrace.

-Tax breaks for the rich.
-More money for the military industrial complex and ICE.
-Cuts to Medicaid, SNAP, and clean energy, with billions stripped from the most vulnerable.

Yet empire & greed are fully funded.

Jesus flipped tables for way less.

Jesus said blessed are the poor and woe to you who are rich. White Conservative Christians reversed that Jubilee ethic & seek to maximize the suffering of the most vulnerable by taking what little they have left away.

I’m a believer in rereading books that are deeply meaningful & insightful. Some books aren’t meant to be consumed just once then shelved. They have layered depth that needs to be internalized over time and hits different in various stages of life.

Drumpf is so impulse and ego driven. He probably did it to appear tough. His insecurities are putting lives at risk.

Just hearing of Walter Brueggemann’s passing. The Prophetic Imagination deeply shaped my faith as an undergrad, opening me to Scripture’s radical, poetic witness against empire. He’ll be missed, but his prophetic words live on. #Brueggemann

We have had many racist presidents in the past. Trump joins a long line of white supremacist administrations. But name a more corrupt president than Trump? You can't. He makes Richard Nixon, Warren Harding, and Andrew Jackson blush.

Yesterday my jump shot was on point.Then drove to Philly with the family to celebrate my Dad's birthday in the afternoon and evening. And to top it off, the turnpike had no traffic leaving and returning to Harrisburg.

Back at the theater for round two of #Sinners. Had to run it back and take it in a bit more.

Just heard the news that Pope Francis has passed. May he rest in peace. His care for the poor will not be forgotten. We will miss his global presence and voice, and I hope that the next Pope will carry the same (or hopefully more) fire for justice, mercy, and love in a world that Francis did.

God raised Jesus from the dead, so we rise too, with power to love, to liberate, and to live in new creation! Happy Easter!
