I was also not expecting to see Subzero come out and swing Kung Fu Panda around.

It was a lovely day to get some sanding in for the mini treehouse project. It should be nice enough tomorrow to finish smoothing out those joins. #miniatures #crafting

Lost an injured cats make a beeline for my house. Bedraggled, hungry, limping cat arrives on a cold day. I bring her in for food and a warm safe spot and post on NextDoor: Is this Your Cat, come get her, I have her safe. I was immediately accused of stealing the cat.

European chocolate doesn't even taste like we are on the same planet as the Hersey's brown wax chocolate-like substance.

My 4070ti super is well over twice what I paid for it two years ago.

I wish I could say I was prophetic to finally refresh my desktop and laptop, but no, I just got lucky.

Voting in California was so easy. You got a booklet of all the things on the ballot with statements from pro and con sides. You could be permanent mail in. No one has to worry about time off or getting to the polling station unless you want to.

How is this not normal everywhere?

If he's saying people jockeying for position to date better looking/wealthier people or trying to create an image of being one of those desirable people, he's not wrong.

You can't be wrong. There's no time in the history of America that white men haven't been in charge. And also greedy.

View down a long porch in an old industrial factor. The building has been repurposed and shows hanging lights and a cafe sign. At the far end is a large door labelled "Elevator."

I wanted to do that, but I would have had to go to court. Instead Social Security mashed my middle name and maiden name into one. So now the name I go by isn't on anything official.

It depends. If there's a major beat in a character's story, they have to be there. If it's a defining point in the group journey, they all have to be there.

Otherwise... 2/3rd ish. 4 for a table of 6; 3 for a table of four. But it also depends on how the players feel.

Hench elevates math; to me that's science. SF isn't just space ships, IMO. But I feel the line can be so fuzzy I've just stopped trying to differentiate unless it's high fantasy (Tolkien-esque).

I'd add Novik's Scholomance series. Or maybe even better, Walschots "Hench"

I think too many peoples' introduction to Shakespeare is on the paper. It looks like rhyming couplets.

Show that video to high school students *before* they read Romeo and Juliet!

If you are a woman in the United States, I strongly recommend you get a passport. In my state at least, RealID/StarID is not sufficient.

And as deliberately as cruel as the process is, trans folk as well if your mental health is secure enough to handle it.

Don't let your voice be silenced.

Most of my known family immigrated came from one of two places:
-From Germany in the late 1600's, Protestants fleeing from religious oppression, or
-Irish people transported to penal colonies in the Caribbean Islands, for reasons unknown but also maybe religious

At the beginning of a session, ask one PC something about their character. Anyone can write a backstory on paper, but questions like "what's on your character's bucket list?" can help them inhabit their characters. (Plus maybe give you ideas for future encounters.)

If you are at lower levels, most of the classes are very accessible. I would encourage you not to attempt to min max and just make a character you think will be fun to role play for a few hours.
