been keeping quiet about it since everyone likes it so much and i hate to be contrarian but truly it was a movie that was made and its baffling to see it be uplifted as hard as it is in leftist circles. ppl really truly do overlook misogyny and excuse it way more than they should. unfortunate.

also ultimately i didnt care for the film overall but expecting me, sunie picklepuppy eepo, to care about a superhero film, is like asking me to say sports games are real video games. its just not going to happen without extreme exception. superman continues to utterly bore me as a character

every moment the film could have chosen a female character to do something, it chose a male character instead; women exist only to uplift the males or do a couple irrelevant Girl Power things to create the illusion of women being relevant to the plot. otherwise it had like 10 misogynistic tropes

its got the exact same women writing as generic shounen manga for 12 year old boys or other stuff aimed at little boys that we made a long time ago back when it was socially acceptable to have the following roles for women:
- Girlfriend
- Evil girlfriend
- Mom
- Evil lady
- Bouncing tits woman

And yeah i remmeber advice like that going around on tumblr like 15 years ago and... guys. No. It wasnt good advice then its not good advice now. Dialogue tags that arent just said should be used IN MODERATION when appropriate not EVERY LINE OF GODDAMN DIALOGUE!!!

It is just SO incredibly distracting, like is the purpose of this section the dialogue or is it to distract the reader with characters snarling and growling 😭😭😭

honestly we should be encouraging just not even having dialogue tags at all, i would rather read a section of back-to-back pure dialogue than have to read the fucking tag slop of growling snarling sighing huffing muttering groaning yelling shouting repeating interjecting

overuse of dialogue tags that aren't just "said" needs to be outwardly discouraged a lot more, it is incredibly distracting to read a section of prose in which every line of dialogue is followed by a beat of growling, snarling, sighing, huffing, muttering, etc
