Today, I unveiled a proposal that would address a major quality of life issue by requiring the state to reserve a portion of any former prison land it decides to sell and make that portion available to the county for affordable housing.

Regulatory red tape is keeping our businesses from installing high-tech perimeter security systems that can help protect workers and premises. Today, the House Commerce Committee advanced my bill to cut that red tape.

I called the Tor Michaels Show to update local residents about bipartisan legislation I’m introducing, regarding SCI-Rockview land. This bill brings sunlight to the process and prevents closed-door transactions or “sweetheart deals” that do not serve the public’s best interests.
