I'm guessing it doesn't have to be a Micron chip? Other suppliers might have stock. Also higher temp grades or larger capacity chips are sometimes better available. In the past we've had a lot of help from our distributors. Even sharing stock of their clients so we could produce a smaller batch.

Same here, exactly the reason why I'm doing this board. It also lowers the design complexity a lot for beginners. Maybe, if we nag enough, @arturo182.bsky.social will release more stamps. (I vaguely remember seeing an ESP32-P4 based one... 🤔)

Some members of Area3001 were nagging about the lack of wireless connectivity on the @solder.party Stamp boards. So I quickly drew up an ESP32-S3 based stamp. Now on to prototyping and creating some documentation. Everything fits whilst still using 0603 passives and 125um tracks.

I've had the same issue with regular 5050 WS2812 LEDs. The issue was the moisture content in the replacement LEDs (open pack) that resulted in cracked lenses when soldered. These cracks broke the bond wires. Try baking your replacement LEDs if they come from an open pack. Good luck!

And of course there are more initiatives like fri3d.be/en/ to get children from an early age in contact with engineering or coderdojobelgium.be/nl/events/4g... that have events focused on future female engineers.

I do feel that this is being tackled now (or at least in Belgium) by having all children come in contact with STEM education before choosing their high school. It's still not perfect, but I do see a lot more women studying engineering now than when I was studying it.

Hier gegaan voor een longtail ipv bakfiets. Wendbaarheid en makkelijker te parkeren. Met grote fietstassen is er ook genoeg plek om naar de winkel te gaan.

Typical high markup at those chain stores. I get mine from gas stations where the cost is approx €5.5/kg ($6.36/kg) (I just called them to ask for the price 😉)
