It was super on sale when I got Fire Emblem Engage a few months ago, so the complete edition with the expansion pass was more affordable. I'm on chapter 4 at the moment, so I'll keep playing and see what's in store.

I have not played any Fire Emblem games. This is actually my first one, and it really was just the dragons that sold the game to me. Until I found out that the dragon content is a little lacking. But am having a wonderful time, this is really good despite it clearly being limited by the Switch 1.

Breath of Fire 3 is one of my formative games, after all, dragon transformation is even more interesting in a way because it marries both humanity and a "monster" into one, exploring some interesting ideas around identity or if a monster is truly a monster.

Okay, I really want these characters. Thank you so much for letting me know! Who are they and how do I get them? Actually, it almost feels like the devs making up for the fact the main character can't turn into a dragon. I am OKAY with dragon transformation, it is actually very spiritual for me.

I swear, if we don't get a Spyro 4 that at least has gorgeous female dragons like this in it, I'm going to explode with sadness... I mean, I already am at the lack of dragon games. But hey at least this is wonderful art with a beautiful, stunning dragoness. Holy crap. <3 <3 <3

But you can actually see why I complain so hard about this, playing Fire Emblem Engage just makes me facepalm so hard. WHERE are the dragons who can speak and where are the dragons who can fight at your side? Or you even play as? Where? I MUST fix this, I HAVE to make Fireheart Saga.

By the way I need to read more Temeraire, now THAT is how you innovate dragon rider stories. With dragons the riders bond with and grow affection for, because the dragons are sentient and can talk, who have their own wants and desires like people. That is amazing, I want that in a game.

There is no innovation with this insistence on dragons being these things that are either glorified horses or smart pets. Now I like that there ARE dragon units in Fire Emblem, I LOVE that! But it ain't no frickin' Temeraire I can tell you that. I want to form a real BOND with dragons I can TALK to.

Look, these characters are damn cool and I like their designs, despite the graphics basically being Xbox 360 or Playstation 3. But they basically blundered an opportunity to TRY to fill Breath of Fire's shoes so fucking badly it's laughable.

Yes, the Divine Dragon Queen stays in human form more often than not, but I was so happy to see her assume dragon form a few times. But "Divine Dragon" just seems to be a title to the main character who is always human. What? Are you shitting me? Do you not turn into a dragon at some point?

I mean, I just hit chapter 4 so anyone who knows what happens knows I should be absolutely livid, and I am. It's like it's enough that you take away a beautiful dragon with a beautiful voice and motherly vibes. I mean, I'm trying not to spoil it too much but let's just say I'm not happy about this.

While doing some maintenance on my PC, some memory diagnostics which didn't find anything wrong, I finally started Fire Emblem Engage on my Switch 2. It's ugly and clearly not running at 60 FPS, but the game itself is great. I can see why people love Fire Emblem, however, as for "dragon content"...

That already was a sort of wasted session where I still couldn't figure out how to get projectile shooting working properly in RPG Architect. I even used a sample action RPG that comes with RPG Architect as a template by copying the scripts that were used over there, then changing some things.

I wonder if this is just Windows 11 starting to truly have those stability problems people are talking about. This is a huge concern if that's the case. I'm surprised I've been coasting along with so little problems. I can't afford a new PC so this is a huge problem if this gets worse.
