The Centre for Reviews and Dissemination is a department of the University of York and is part of the National Institute for Health Research. CRD undertakes high quality systematic reviews that evaluate the effects of health and social care interventions and the delivery and organisation of health care.

Here is a link to our (unfunded) Meta-Narrative Review on #GestaltLanguageProcessing and #NaturalLanguageAcquisition. Do you know of any publications (text, in English, not social media, not vids) that we can check? If so, DM or email me at Lucy.Bryant@uts.edu.au www.crd.york.ac.uk/prospero/dis...

A flyer advertises that research opportunity.
The research is happening at the University of Technology Sydney, Australia. Adults woth aphasia can participate. They need to travel to the university. They will talk to the researchers on the phone first. Then they will try virtual reality. They will play 2 games and watch 2 videos. We will ask some questions. Contact Dr Lucy Bryant if you are interested or if you have questions. Lucy's email is Lucy.Bryant@uts.edu.au. Her phone number is 0295147189

Adults with #Aphasia, we want to know what you think of #VirtualReality. It's appearing more in rehabilitation, but do you like it? Does it work for you? Try it out and let us know! Please share with anyone you know in the Sydney (Australia) area.

Two columns of text one wit a header that says implicit grammar treatments followed by the words enhanced input + attentive listening and teh other that says explicit grammar treatments followed by meta skills+rules + production practice. Then several treatment types are listed after each one with short definitions and references.

Even though recast therapy is great for treating grammar in #DevLangDis, our lab takes a 'kitchen sink' approach when the focus is on something other than the intervention itself. There is growing evidence for explicit approaches. #SLPeeps Do you mix and match? How do you decide which to use when?

Yes. "Echolalia" is certainly something I haven't covered in enough detail in the past. But I've always included AAC as language expression in content and case examples. We learn about verbal, written, gestured (including signed) and tactile forms of language expression. All are language

Some importance here in emphasising phonology as the overlap between speech and language. I noted on clinic that the differences between phonological and articulatory difficulties are not always well understood

A research flyer advertising the research. It says the research has ethical approval. The research aims to develop an assessment for communication using technology including email, text, social media, online shopping, etc. People with TBI, their family and speech pathologists can participate. You must be over 18 years. You will participate in an interview and surveys, or just surveys if you prefer. Payment of up to $150 is given for participation.

So @lucyebryant.bsky.social and I would like to know β€”- for our narrative review - can you please help us?

⁉️ What β€œingredients” of GLP/NLA approach are used in therapy?

⁉️ What outcomes: seen or measured?

We will think on your replies to help us look closely in books for those things.

In a systematic review of #GLP #NLA, qualitative data about lived experience is important, too. Treatment effectiveness matters, but so does the human experience and acceptability of the intervention or support. We didn't find any qualitative evidence either #BskySPEECHIES

This is step one of the investigation - the research evidence. We hear claims that #GLP #NLA is backed by research, but we couldn't find it. Clinician and client experience also provide information that guide practice. We're hoping to learn more about those arms of #EBP with more research to come
