I am pro Iranian people. I stand with them against their own government’s repression AND against the imperial violence in the form of bombs dropped from the sky from Israel & the US who have already killed hundreds.

I do actually think there is a serious imbalance on this app. A lot of politics and not enough culture. Some of that has to do with the fact that Black Twitter mostly went to Threads.

oof I think a lot about this. my entire area of interest, passion, work, study is the intersection of arts, culture, and spirituality. I talk all the time about how art/culture are woven into the issues of our time and what we're fighting for, but I get on here and don't know how to talk about it.

I've been having this conversation in so many places today.

I think about this all the time, and how even on that day in the middle of everything, I thought about how people live with being bombed daily and how wholly injust it is, and how the US is so often responsible for it.

The worst thing is seeing so many people, especially elders, change from their pre-social media selves to their post social media selves. People have always been weird, sexist, bigoted etc, but it's just really something seeing folks go from seemingly reasonable to outright laughing at suffering.

I feel like usually bad news rolls off me easier than most of the people I know. I tend towards stoicism in the face of this or that new terrible bill. But the news out of Kansas and the prison system are rattling me more than usual, which I'm guessing means other folks are more rattled still.
