Writer: "Yes, I met you in Seattle, you offered me drugs, and you were the first person I told I was pregnant."

That the removal of a corporate tax break which would have cost the state $550M survives in this final income tax proposal is great news for everyday people of our state. As more Washingtonians make use of popular programs, we must continue pressing the issue of taxing corporate and personal wealth.

I've been having this conversation with friends and family for at least a year. America and our relationship with the world is about to be fundamentally changed, and I don't think most (white) Americans are going to be ready to not be centered the way we were before.

Trump is adding anti-trans provisions to SAVE America Act Trump appears to be using culture-war issues, which are popular among Republican voters, to increase the pressure on Republican lawmakers to back the bill.

🚨BREAKING: The White House confirmed Friday that President Donald Trump is pressing Congress to add new provisions targeting transgender people to the SAVE America Act β€” a sweeping anti-voting bill that could disenfranchise millions. www.democracydocket.com/news-alerts/...

Did this motherfucker really just say β€œas a futurist I’m not really good at imagining what the new jobs will be”? What the fuck is the point of being a futurist if you can’t imagine the future?

If you're at the airport and Kristi Noem is doing the ominous little message from the TSA screens, you no longer have to do anything she says. Leave your laptop in the case, whatever.

and stay with this a second because he's talking about the deaths of US people on US soil and not necessarily the deaths of soldiers. they would love another 9/11 to happen so they can clamp down even harder on the fascism. it's what happened last time. I'm not surprised, but I am still horrified.

Why We Must Fight to Stop HR 7661 Before It Destroys the Lives of American Children Lately I’ve been calling my House rep and screaming about one zillion things, and maybe you have too. But today I want to talk about one thing in particular you should add to your list: H.R. 7661 i…

I wrote about the first national book banning bill, which effectively seeks to erase trans people. At the end I include a link to let your reps know that you oppose this bill and all it stands for. lithub.com/why-we-must-...

when you win a small concession you just get to keep yelling btw. one time a local official said to me "you people are never happy" and like: correct! it is not our job to be happy with compromise! it's our job to be annoying forever actually

Everything else aside, is the older I get and the more we live in a dystopia the harder it is to ignore that Firefly is fundamentally a lost cause narrative.

I don't want to root for the confederates.

Torpedoing an unarmed ship, then leaving survivors to die, violates the Geneva Conventions, UNCLOS, the UN Charter, and the Rome Statute. All at once. The Trump regime claims no war exists, which makes this even more illegal. Calling it an 'operation' doesn't make it legal.

I don’t want to share the video because it’s pretty graphic, but apparently we’re at the β€˜Republican Senator breaks the arm of a Marine IN FULL DRESS because that marine was protesting the Republicans starting a war of choice with Iran’ stage of things.

Like... no, you're not "projecting" or "calling" races, Polymarket. You're showing people the current betting line and misrepresenting it as something more than that.

I think one of the things that bothers me the most about the way Polymarket presents itself to the world is that it's adopted the language of journalism to make itself sound more legitimate. Like look at this post from yesterday morning incorrectly "projecting" the winner.

Good op-ed here. There's no reason to take this "deal" with big corporations anyway. They are trying to get a huge tax cut at the expense of our public schools, while quietly hoping (and maybe even encouraging) right-wing activists to put it on the ballot and kill the millionaire's tax anyway.
