The headline is "Seagulls laned [sic] near chimney just before white smoke began billowing out. It's noted as "by Mark Colley Staff Reporter". There is a picture of a seagul on a roof by a metal chimney on a monitor of some kind. The update states "Minutes before the white smoke started billowing out, a family of seagulls -- including a baby seagull -- landed on the roof of the Sistine Chapel. When the smoke appeared, they moved away but remained on the roof, seemingly unbothered by the momentous decision taking place directly under their feet.

I don't know if this falls under "incredibly important news update" or "what the hell are we even doing here" so I leave you all to decide for yourselves.
