Hello, the controller support in the current version is lackluster due to using old dinput drivers. XBox is the one with least issues. We'll be switching drivers next version.
For guides on the current version, try using DS4Windows with Option\Hide DS4
For Switch use BetterJoy.

The multiplayer beta was a independent test to see if it was possible. Since the sole coder of that is working on DX features, it will probably not be touched until 2.0 is ready and stable.

We've already reduced the issue in an upcoming version and are looking into fixing it entirely.
No set release date yet.
A lot of polish under the hoods has us targeting the end of 2025, as we want to polish up the foundation of the game to use more modern rendering (OpenGL instead of DirectX7) and input drivers.
These should fix controller and performance issues people currently have.

Seaside Hill Act 2 in the upcoming version of Sonic World DX, with baked lighting and additional decorations to improve the atmosphere of the stage.

Sonic World DX 2.0 will make island NPCs more interactable, akin to the Commander in 1.2!
They will also be available to read into on the characters screen of the collections menu, giving hints on where to find them and if they have something for a character to do.
We are starting work on improved mod documentation for the current DX version (1.2.7) using Mkdocs. So far, only the themes section is ready.
This will be much easier to understand than the previous, with more visual aids for those who are visual learners.
Some enemies will have altered behaviours in v2.0 to make them more lively or chaotic, here's a peak at the redesigned Artificial Chaos!
Seems like the laser eyes are swapped out for a scarier more unique attack. Better keep your distance from this monster.
