In RME, we have started to learn about the Islamic tradition of Ramadan. We created some of our own present moon and star prints. We will be learning all about how Muslims prepare for Ramadan with their communities and families and how they celebrate Eid. Cultural learning is important to us in p1!

Great engagement in our play today-we counted coins, stamped CVC words in playdough, created fantastic buildings using construction materials, made lovely artworks, practised ‘th’ words, dug for dinosaur bones in the sand and played in the house corner. Such a busy day!🤩

Yesterday we listened to the story “My Big Shouting Day” and thought about ways to calm down when we feel angry. We got out for some fresh air, tried some grounding techniques and then drew some things that make us happy!🤩

Today we learnt all about the th diagraph. We could say lots of words which contained th too. Also, here are some of the pyramids completing fact families in Numeracy.

P1 bringing the funk today at our hip hop session with AJ Dance! Love, love, loved it!🤩

We learnt about personal space and boundaries today. We discussed how we can avoid being space invaders and even practised declining or accepting others into our space bubble. It’s ok to say “no, I need more space”!

Today, in HWB, we learnt how to stay safe online with Smartie the Penguin. We discussed who we should go to for help with ict equiptment, or what to do if pop-ups appear. #antohandwb @antorightsps.bsky.social

Using dienes to understand place value of numbers and to help us visualise how bigger numbers are made or partitioned too. Well done!

We had great fun this afternoon learning about The Great Race! We even made our own zig zag Chinese dragons.

We had so much fun at the school food showdown. We learned about eating healthy and new cooking skills.

We loved our karate session today! What a great way to keep our mind and body fit! We listened carefully to the instructions, took turns and gave it our best. Well done P1!

Another learner inspired by China and Chinese New Year in her play. "I've made the Great Wall of China". She was also caught hoovering the home corner in the area today to prepare for the new year hee hee.

A kind thanks to both ladies from Asda who came to talk us through the different parts of the Eatwell plate. Afterwards, we got to try some fruits and vegetables that we'd maybe never seen before. Well done p1 for trying some different items. @antorightsps.bsky.social

Best laughs today with Andy amd his Jammin Fitness session. We loved this activity as part of our HWB fortnight tasks.

We learnt about Chinese New Year today and which Lunar Animal year we were born on. We made some lovely Chinese lanterns to complete our afternoon. The moons also enjoyed reading their new book with me today.

Today in Numeracy, we tried the part whole model to help us add 2 digits and get the total. Next steps, addition on a numberline.

We enjoyed trying addition for the first time today. We liked the funky fingers and abacus 🧮 too. Well done p1!

Today P2s worked with me on reciprocal reading skills. We explored the text Biscuit Bear. They used their Visualisation skills to imagine and create their own bear! We had lots of different types! Well done p2! Another lovely book explored in Literacy.

The Art and Design Leading the Learning group learned about the artist Mondrian today. They could tell me that they liked how he used 3 primary colours and black lines. They enjoyed creating their Mondrian hearts! Super p1s and p2s today. Look at them also using a ruler....

Today in p1, we enjoyed making Dino land in play and we learned more about our common words did and he. Some of us tried writing sentences too using did or he!

We are remembering our story Let Me Come In so well now that we thought we'd try some sequencing of characters. The children did this very well and some even wrote the names of them too! Well done p1

Block play and loose parts was a hit today. The children were using blocks,peg people and animals to make themeparks, schools, zoos and castles! Lovely imaginative play in action.

Miss Jackson has been teaching the new skill of identifying odd and even numbers to 10 or 20. She introduced the children today to Odd Todd and Even Steven and taught them a skip count strategy. Afterwards, the children tried to sort numbers into the odd or even hoops!

This learner has been planning, adapting and making his model thr last 2 days. How cool! Super skills on show ans d great resilence too.
