I really hope that this is just the first wave of Shadow Lord merchandise. The show is a month away and I've hardly seen anything! Where's all the toys? The figures? Where's Devon and Rook and the Nightbrothers? Where are they???? Come on Disney, you gotta give us something!

I haven't posted half of the shirts released today, but they all look more or less like this.

Interestingly, ALL of the shirts feature Maul. I haven't seen anything featuring Devon, Rook Kast, or anyone else from the upcoming show. I wonder why? Would it count as spoilers to put Devon on a shirt???

I love these ones that read "Power of the Dark Side" and "Shadow Lord," just in case you forgot Maul's entire deal 😂

You'll quickly notice that these shirts keep reusing the same artwork. I don't mind; Maul looks cool! I just hope the scenes they're pulled from are just as epic as they seem to be!

Speaking of catchphrases, we have "Fear is my ally," a phrase we've seen on Maul merch before, but now with Shadow Lord artwork. He probably won't, but it would be cool if Maul said that phrase in Shadow Lord. "Fear is my ally" was only ever said in a commercial back in 1999, never in canon!

First, we have two shirts that read, "It must be done." This intrigues me because I don't think Maul has ever said this before. It's not one of his usual catchphrases, like "Fear is my ally." I'm REALLY excited to find out if his says this in Shadow Lord, I'd love for him to have a new catchphrase 😂

Hot Topic dropped a TON of new Maul: Shadow Lord branded t-shirts today, and so of course I had to examine them much too closely for clues about the upcoming show.

What did I learn? Not a lot. But it sure is fun to speculate wildly!

40 DAYS UNTIL MAUL: SHADOW LORD ! ! !

I'm utterly fascinated by the idea that Maul has been changed by the rise of Empire, and he's reevaluated his... well, not his MORALITY, exactly, but maybe his priorities? The idea that there's a line that he won't cross? I want to know what that line is, and how we'll see it in Shadow Lord.

...completely bought into Palpatine's plans. "Even if [Vader] had doubts, he was all in. Maul never was, not really. Maybe in [TPM], but everything that happened afterwards changed him. ...He's drawn new lines he won't cross."

What do you mean, Sam. What do you MEAN. WHAT LINE WON'T HE CROSS?

I have so much to say about every sentence in this interview, but I think my favorite part is when Sam introduces the idea that Maul has "drawn new lines that he won't cross."

Sam makes it clear that Maul isn't a fan of the Empire, and that's what separates him from Vader, because Vader has...

Also, I love that Maul's relationship with Rook Kast, his ability to "hear bad news sometimes" is framed in direct contrast to Palpatine. Because when you answer to Palpatine, there's no negotiation, no failure, no bad news. But Maul is distinguishing himself from his master AND I LOVE IT.

Second of all, that's FASCINATING. Maul is learning to listen to others? Learning to accept influence? Incredible. I'm so here for it. I bet this also ties in to his relationship with Devon because he'll be more likely to listen to her in a way that he wasn't able to listen to Savage.

There's also a Rook Kast mention that I love. Sam said, "their relationship is interesting because Maul actually listens to her. He's learned that people have valuable points of view and, unlike Palpatine, he needs to hear bad news sometimes."

First of all, Rook/Maul shippers come get your juice!!!

I'm so happy that we're gonna talk about Savage again! 😭 I feel like it's gonna tie in to Maul taking a new apprentice, because he'll want things to be different with Devon.

Okay, first of all, SAVAGE OPRESS MENTION! I almost cried. I've been wanting Maul to address Savage's death and apparently that's where Maul starts in Shadow Lord. Sam says that Maul is "assessing who he is and also thinking about his brother..."

I've read the Sam Witwer interview in the latest issue of Star Wars Insider, and I'm BUZZING with excitement over everything he said about Maul: Shadow Lord. Leave it to Sam to get me even more hyped. I wanna talk about it more but it might involve minor spoilers so... fair warning!

It's nice that your faves and canon overlap because that's not always the case for me! Like, Morrigan is my canon romance from DA:O but Zevran was my favorite. So if we're talking canon, my only overlap with your list is Morrigan. But if we're talking faves, we have Cassandra and Vetra in common!

Yeah, she's a romance option if you choose to play a Bounty Hunter! Not one of my favorite romances in the game, that honor goes to Kaliyo and Malavai 🥰
