Not much going on today with non-severe thundershowers in the north possible.
Also, very low chance of an isolated storm along the foothills but itβs also not zero.

A white plate with a Denver omelette strata and a rocket salad on it.
Edmonton friends, if you havenβt yet been to Tulip (Ottoβs lunchtime incarnation) run donβt walk. I popped in today and got an unbelievably tasty Denver Strata. Think savoury bread pudding topped with Hollandaise. Itβs just about too good for words.

To note, that circle around Edmonton indicates funnel cloud potential (usually of the cold core variety), not tornado potential.

Commonly found in urban areas such as gardens, around buildings and including in your house, they are tiny but mighty.
They donβt spin webs but can jump about 10cm.
They are highly unlikely to bite and are not aggressive (unless they feel threatened).
June is the start of baby season! In Alberta, most females will have given birth by the end of June, but many give birth earlier, especially warm seasons (like this year!) - anyone with bats in buildings should leave them be until September if any specific management is planned. π¦

A male eastern bluebird. A rarity for the Edmonton area and Alberta. Male Eastern Bluebirds are vivid, deep blue above and rusty or brick-red on the throat and breast. Blue in birds always depends on the light, and males often look plain gray-brown from a distance. Females are grayish above with bluish wings and tail, and a subdued orange-brown breast.
A rare sighting today in the Edmonton area. This is a male Eastern Bluebird. Mountain bluebirds are the common bluebird in the area. #bird #birds #nature #wildlife #photography #lifer #rare #canon @goingwild.bsky.social @fisherspeaks.bsky.social

Today's updated t-storm outlook
Almost all of Alberta will have thunderstorm potential with a severe risk in centre of the province including the Edmonton area.
Should severe storms develop there is a risk of torrential rain, 2-3cm hail and gusts up to 100 km/h
#yegwx #abstorm
Severe thunderstorm watches have been issued for portions of central Alberta between Slave Lake to south of Edmonton and along the foothills as conditions are favourable for the development of severe weather this afternoon and evening.

This photograph captures Sir David Attenborough seated outdoors on the rugged terrain of Skomer Island. Behind him, the ocean and coastal cliffs form a scenic backdrop under a clear sky. Sir David, dressed in a khaki jacket and light trousers, looks towards the camera with a gentle expression, exuding a sense of warmth, calm, and wisdom. Around him, puffins can be seen flying and perched on the rocky ground, illuminated in rays of golden sunlight as the sun sets behind the cliffs.
Happy 99th birthday to the man who gave voice to the wild. π
