Update! I decided to frog it all and start over. This second time around I’m much happier with the way it’s working up and how the colorwork is fitting! I was feeling like the first attempt was too busy, so this simple #velaris night sky version is much better❤️🧶 #batboys #knitsocks #knitsky

Not for this specifically, but I’m taking heavy inspiration from this existing pattern ⤵️ my sock is a standard 64 stitches with two color ribbing, so not all of these motifs will fit evenly but it’s a nice start. I’m adding my own motifs as I go.

Pattern link! My thoughts on it: fun knit! Great chart options, pattern was written well. I used worsted weight yarn for a sturdier fabric and it still worked amazingly well 🖤

Really? It’s possible to remember your numbers well enough to not need a pattern?? Sign me up! Question, do you knit one or two at a time? What do you like more? Every time I’ve made socks (which is exactly 3 times) they come out different and it’s discouraging

This week for #showmeyourknits I’ll share a project that never got completed. A prototype mushroom sweater for my son, chart and all colors dyed by me. There’s so many mistakes in it that I put it in the shame WIP pile 2 years ago. But wow, I made that! I should try again 🧶 #knitter

Serious question, what does everyone do with their swatches? Do you
A. unravel and put it back into the project it was made for
B. Stuff them in a drawer (label optional)
C. Create a Frankenstein swatch project?

Second this, I have a large bust and I measure with the tape under my armpits. I’ve found the give of wool actually flatters the bust with a little negative ease where I want it. Everything fits so much better now and a whole lot less boxy. Also recommend learning bust darts!

Oh, sleeve island 🏝️ I love the colors of this sweater but the endless stockinette, the yarn ball wrestling, and more are endless stockinette are really not doing it for me on this project. Naturally, my next project will be colorwork to compensate. #knitter #knitsky #showmeyourknits 🧶

Never a bad time to start! Highly recommend a drop spindle first, low cost low risk.
