Imagine staying as late as we did the other night to vote *against* basic rights.

We all have a part to play, through an active democracy, in making sure this dystopian version of Britain - Great Britain - with our basic rights, our NHS and more on the line, never comes to pass.

nothing wrong with a bit of dress up and role play, nor is there anything wrong in marking a big life change for a child. I'm a believer in celebrating those moments. But I don't think we should be spending huge amounts of money on it. The schools should provide the gowns.

I loved it; naughty crazy dog, funny robots, weirdo sidekicks and allies, great kick-ass Lois, hot superman. Didn't try to be serious but still did a fair amount of character building and world building stuff. Can't wait to see more. Loved moody Mr Terrific too.

Very moving session on people who have left high-control religious communities at Humanists 2025. People who were going to lose everything - even their family - because they wouldn't stop asking questions, but refused to stop asking questions anyway. Impossible courage.

Today we remember these beautiful words by Jo Cox, who was murdered #onthisday in 2016 by a far-right extremist. Her positive, optimistic, and caring approach to life and politics had already inspired so many. Her legacy lives on, including through @jocoxfoundation.bsky.social. She is sorely missed.

I'm blown away by the response we've had at Faith to Faithless for this animation we had made about the difficulties people go through when leaving high-control religions.

I must admit, I cried the first time I watched it.

I played a small part in helping @humanists.uk bring Faith to Faithless under their umbrella. It was set up by apostates from a number of religions to help people who were largely neglected by schools, social services etc. because it’s not widely recognised as a “safeguarding” or other harmful issue

I left the Jehovah's Witnesses when I was 21, this resulted in me being homeless, kicked out by mum, and losing every friend I had. That was a very isolating time. Today, people don't have to go through leaving controlling religions alone.

I wrote on my 3 year olds nursery forms that he has no religion as he's too young to understand, but we are humanists. The nursery staff didn't care. Lol

Disney has turned my 3yo son into a princess. There are no interesting/positive males in Disney movies. My son sees Moana &Elsa as super heroes and talks about them all the time and wants to be them. Which is great for his attitude towards women when older. But it would be good if he saw +males too.
