The 365 days of the year are translated into strokes,
spread across 12 paintings, one for each month. To mark the passing of time,
a white horizontal line is added each month.

Each day, I add one stroke to this series. The process is the same, but never identical. If I miss a day, the stroke is black. It’s a routine, not because I have to, but because I want to. Perfection is never perfect.

January 2025. One stroke per day.
If I skip a day, the stroke turns black. Unintentionally, that kept me going and I didn’t miss a single day.

I usually imagine a composition in my head and respond to each painted set of strokes based on what I painted before. But it's also really useful to write down those ideas right away and reflect on them. I really enjoy doing thatwith pen and paper.

This image reveals how my polymetric compositions take shape, showing my counting structures.
I explored diagonals by applying duplications: counts of 2, 4, 8, with 1, 2, and 3-fold divisions.
