Reclassification wouldnโt go down well with a significant proportion of its core vote; middle-aged cis women. Suddenly 100s of thousands/millions of cis women needing prescriptions would not help them maintain their dwindling vote. Gift for the Greens & would result in more cis women supporting us.

No more illegal wars. Introduce a prevention of military intervention act and put human rights at the heart of foreign policy. Review all UK arms sales and make us a force for international peace and justice.
The majority of people in this country do not want us to be involved in this war.
Keir Starmer of a few years ago wouldn't have supported this war.
The only reason he does now is he will do anything Donald Trump wants - and it makes us all less safe.

No one is defending the Iranian regime & its brutalisation of its own people. That doesnโt make it any less true that this war was started by a man desperately distracting from the Epstein files and a man who is wanted for war crimes. Two old men whoโll send young ppl to die so they can avoid prison.

Labour is trying to create a permanent underclass who can be treated like dirt and live in permanent bureaucratic limbo.
As Tony Benn said. The way they treat people like this is the way they would treat all of us if they could get away with it.

Palantir Sues Swiss Magazine For Accurately Reporting That The Swiss Government Didnโt Want Palantir
If you run a company whose entire value proposition is the ability to see patterns, predict outcomes, and connect dots that others miss, youโd think someone in the building might have flaggedโฆ
"using Palantirโs software would increase dependence on a U.S. provider. It also poses the risk of losing data sovereignty and thereby national sovereignty.
"Above all, however, the armyโs staff experts say it remains unclear who has access to data shared with Palantir."

It also needs to be put into the context that there is minimal oversight for cis people taking hrt.
It's nuts that everything trans related is portrayed as higher risk or difficult, especially given the evidence says it isn't.

There are parallels with abortion. You donโt ban abortion, you only ban safe abortions
But DIY gender-affirming healthcare is both less & more safe; it avoids stressful psych- assessments that effectively constitute *conversion therapy* removing the most unsafe (often traumatizing) aspect.

And of course those on DIY are choosing cross-sex hormones over blockers because, in contrast to the fiction of โgender-questioningโ created by Cass, Streeting, Phillipson etc, the overwhelming majority of trans kids know 100% who they are.
So from this POV why not just go for the real thing?

I have always suspected there are now many, many times more young people accessing gender-affirming healthcare than before Streetingโs puberty-blocker ban.
I recently mentioned this to a feminist lawyer abroad who told me this is exactly what happens when governments ban abortionโฆ

Labour is stubborn in defeat because it knows this: we face the belated end of the political 20th century | John Harris
In Gorton and Denton, I heard again and again that people wanted seismic political change โ Labour and the Tories are no longer part of that conversation, says Guardian columnist John Harris
"Whereas so-called 'red wall' residents who have moved to the right have been lionised by Labour insiders as 'hero voters' to be chased and never criticised, Labour-Green switchers must apparently be scolded for being seduced by indulgent and reckless gesture politics."

Doctors fear young at risk from โblack-market trans hormonesโ
Medics call for an urgent investigation into trans community groups offering support on accessing supplies for self-medication
Well, yes, trans people are getting drugs; yes, from entirely unregulated sources; yes, without counselling; yes, without blood tests; yes, they are self-administering; yes, without clinical oversight; yes, risking long term harm; yes, it is highly suboptimal.
What did you think would happen?

This is exactly right. We knew what Labour's full-scale withdrawal of healthcare would mean for trans people. We told them it would be devastating. This should have been obvious. But to please JK Rowling they did it anyway.

Speaking to the Guardian on the day before the byelection result, Mahmood urged her colleagues to acknowledge that the UK public had โlegitimate grievancesโ about the unfairness of allowing people to arrive in small boats and the strain on public services from excessive immigration.
Compare and contrast Starmer calling Green's "extremists", "divisive" and "sectarian" with Mahmood repeating false Reform claims about "legitimate concerns" and "strain on public services". It isn't a choice between Reform and Labour when end result is the same.

Iran knows the US has no desire to send ground troops. They also know that this is a cost imposing conflict on the US: the munitions US are using are both expensive, and VERY finite. They also know that Trump is unpopular. This gives them carte blanche to commit an atrocity that spurs real outrage.

The Green Party has 200,000 members but fewer than Reform, which has 270,000.
Wrong.
Reform is a limited company entirely owned by Nigel Farage.
So it only has 1 member.
The other 269,999 are just a mailing list.
Unlike Green Party members, they do not elect leaders or determine policy.

But this evidence has never fitted the transphobic agenda.
So they just wave it away.
The Cass Review ignores it entirely.
It relied on the same terrible, ABUSIVE & heavily critiqued articles from the 1950s-1980s to claim trans kids grow out of it.

Since the we have also had multiple newer studies showing that trans kids do not en masse change their minds on their identities and suddenly become cis.
Studies like this one I blogged about NINE years ago:
