It also needs to be put into the context that there is minimal oversight for cis people taking hrt.

It's nuts that everything trans related is portrayed as higher risk or difficult, especially given the evidence says it isn't.

There are parallels with abortion. You don’t ban abortion, you only ban safe abortions

But DIY gender-affirming healthcare is both less & more safe; it avoids stressful psych- assessments that effectively constitute *conversion therapy* removing the most unsafe (often traumatizing) aspect.

And of course those on DIY are choosing cross-sex hormones over blockers because, in contrast to the fiction of “gender-questioning” created by Cass, Streeting, Phillipson etc, the overwhelming majority of trans kids know 100% who they are.

So from this POV why not just go for the real thing?

I have always suspected there are now many, many times more young people accessing gender-affirming healthcare than before Streeting’s puberty-blocker ban.

I recently mentioned this to a feminist lawyer abroad who told me this is exactly what happens when governments ban abortion…

This is exactly right. We knew what Labour's full-scale withdrawal of healthcare would mean for trans people. We told them it would be devastating. This should have been obvious. But to please JK Rowling they did it anyway.

Compare and contrast Starmer calling Green's "extremists", "divisive" and "sectarian" with Mahmood repeating false Reform claims about "legitimate concerns" and "strain on public services". It isn't a choice between Reform and Labour when end result is the same.

Iran knows the US has no desire to send ground troops. They also know that this is a cost imposing conflict on the US: the munitions US are using are both expensive, and VERY finite. They also know that Trump is unpopular. This gives them carte blanche to commit an atrocity that spurs real outrage.

Reform UK’s share of BBC and ITV coverage is ridiculous given their number of MPs & considering opposition parties that polled higher (such as Lib Dems) receive such poor coverage.

The Green Party has 200,000 members but fewer than Reform, which has 270,000.

Wrong.

Reform is a limited company entirely owned by Nigel Farage.

So it only has 1 member.

The other 269,999 are just a mailing list.

Unlike Green Party members, they do not elect leaders or determine policy.

It Can Now Be Plainly Said: Trump Is Planning a November Coup d’État During the campaign, it was kind of hard to picture the specifics of how Trump might pull such a thing off. Alas, it’s getting less hypothetical by the week.
