Ending the two-child benefit cap in today's budget is huge, wonderful news for the 500,000 children lifted out of poverty and the 1 million who will face less deep poverty. But the other 4.1m children in poverty deserve the same. This was the right start: now do the rest.

Everyone affected by having the two-child benefit cap lifted needs to vote Green.

Without Green Party campaigning it would still be there.

You only have to be "thought to be trans" to be disqualified, and trans bans now seem to operate retrospectively.

I would like to be able to celebrate the 27th November as

"FFAFO Day"

(Fascists F*ck Around & Find Out),
or maybe

"Jair-in Jail Day".

We need more politicians like Lula who will make sure fascists pay full price for their crimes.

Alongside many campaigners, the Green Party have absolutely dragged the Labour Government to finally end the child cap.

Labour politicians disgracefully defended it for far too long.

This shows why the Green Party membership rising and rising matters.

More North Sea exploration to be allowed in new Labour plan - BBC News The chancellor will unveil the North Sea Strategy in her Budget speech, the BBC understands.

Announced while everyone's reacting to the budget, Labour are backtracking from their already weak position on new fossil fuel extraction.

Wildly irresponsible in the face of the climate emergency.

One of the MPs suspended for opposing the Starmer/Reeves two-child benefit restriction went on to form a new political party, a party that will take a lot of Labour seats at the next election, including those of Streeting & Mahmoud.

If this ever gets accepted, trans people need to sue businesses that capitulate without a fight, so everyone knows capitulation will not protect them from litigation.

I know some people planning to do just this. The idea is they build up a kitty to fight more & more. It isn’t going to be one-sided.

What Is Happening to Our Trans Children How thriving children were pushed into fear by systems meant to protect them.

Most parents aren’t trans. When we have babies we don’t consider we may have a trans child. When we find out we do, most admit to a moment or period of β€˜What? Why? When? Help! Then we get on with caring for our child.

But our affirmative care is being challenged.

Here a mum shares her thoughts.

Good to hear Rachel Reeves finally attack the 2 child benefit cap - but if Labour were so much against it, why’s it taken them so long to scrap it? And why were Labour MPs suspended for saying *exactly* the same last year? There’s no moral high ground here #budget2025
