It's just really nice to have other people to hang out and chat with even when you're grinding through content that you've already done countless times.

I know what you mean. I haven't played WoW in over a decade, but I still find myself reminiscing about it because of some of the friends I made while I was playing.

Most of my playtime in MMO's since then has generally been more solo leaning and it makes it difficult to stick with them sometimes.

Woke up super early today for reasons that I'm unsure of, and it means being more sleepy than usual. Maybe it's a sign that I'm adapting to the time change? I dunno.

It didn't really change anything in the end though, as it took so long to feel awake that I didn't get up until around the usual time

Kinda hate days like that, but maybe it's a sign to just take it easy and rest I guess

Yeah, it's really wild how people who don't want to backseat or spoil things are unable to realize how comments like "Oh, you're at this part" or "Ugh, I forgot about this", etc. can also do the work of setting an expectation of things and ruin the experience for the person doing the blind play.

I've heard it suggested that urban sprawl is worse here because it's cheaper/easier to build out rather than building up since there's a lot of space, and that's a bit part of why NA has such a focus around cars and what not.

Makes sense to some degree so it's probably true, but yeah... it sucks.

As a Canadian, I too wish we had safe bicycle infrastructure in North America. Also more walkable spaces.

I also appreciate the fact that Andromeda involves exploring a whole new location, rather than sticking to the Milky Way, and it also just opens up opportunities for them to get weird with it.

Looking forward to getting to re-play more of the game in the near future!

It worked because of the overall story, and the implied urgency, that was being told by 2&3, but the change meant that it lost a lot of what felt like Mass Effect to me.

Andromeda going back to having exploration areas and generally being more open ended brings back what I liked about Mass Effect.

Combat in 1 was kinda janky. ME 2 & 3 refined the original game towards the combat side of things - It became very mission focused, and built specifically around having combat arenas for every fight - to address that... but there wasn't much in the way of open areas to explore and just find things.

Having replayed a fair amount of Mass Effect: Andromeda recently, it's reinforced my feelings about the game... which is that it's the best Mass Effect game. It very much feels like what Mass Effect 1 wanted to be, but just wasn't able to pull off because of whatever limitations existed at the time.

I'm sure there were people who asked for that kind of functionality, and I'm kinda glad that it exists for them.... but I'd really enjoy having an option to disable it on my end so that everyone's names appear in a readable format?

Yeah, it really sucks how easy it can be to just lose touch with people sometimes and have 0 idea how to find them again.

Like... It's one thing if it's your choice to disappear I guess, but that's the nuclear option - it would still suck for others who might want to check in and such.

It's hitting me pretty hard today after 2 long-ish stream days in a row, though that's probably exacerbated by the recent time change throwing everything off.

I dunno, maybe it's just an introvert thing. I don't tend to talk a lot offline - NDA's mean I largely can't talk about my work, and I generally feel like I'm not a very interesting person outside of that - so it's rare for me to socialize to that extent normally even should I go out to a party.

Getting back into streaming semi regularly over the last month or two after a long hiatus has reminded me just how tiring it can be. It's still fun mind you, I wouldn't do it if it wasn't, but streaming for 6 or 7 hours generally leaves me feeling exhausted afterwards.

I'm really looking forward to checking this mode out and seeing how it plays. I've really been enjoying Turn Based modes in CRPGs these days and it gives me a reason to play Pillars of Eternity again!

Turns out that the Turn-Based gamemode that had been hinted as being added to Pillars of Eternity earlier this year has a beta test opening up as of tomorrow!
