and we are also constantly in a state of exhaustion from working so much, financial obligations, health issues, poverty. no one has time or energy for each other. it's not that people are just meaner than they used to be, it's the state of the world.

the world seems crueler bc we're all so scared of each other. we are constantly exposed to the news, epstein files, war, violence. not to mention how isolated we were during the pandemic. nearly everyone is traumatized from coping with it all.

working in mental health has made me realize that people in general seem more isolative and closed off to genuine human connection because of trauma and being overworked

my legal name is not super common, yet i still don't necessarily think most of those messages are about me.

however, i do find it very comforting that i came across a message that i needed to hear. i am no longer friends with certain people, but i can still appreciate the friends i do have.

confession: whenever i miss someone i'm not friends with anymore, sometimes i check the unsent project archives and pretend like they're sending me messages secretly

but this time whenever i did that, the first message i saw said "i'm so happy we're friends"
