We should be even more concerned about what Noem said just before @padilla.senate.gov started speaking than we are about how he was assaulted and handcuffed.

We all need to start doing this. Send the White House paper airplanes with our messages on it as a protest. (But I'm not sure if the 1st Amendment would allow us to fly them over the White House fence without getting arrested...)

Yeah this quick line is pretty revealing — no clear order from Trump, just underlings asserting different readings of the tea leaves

It's not uncommon for principals to put things together for a president's final sign off. Presidents are busy. But you can't read these texts and not get the strong sense the actl commander in chief isn't really part of the convo, not literally or figuratively. Out to lunch. Weekend at Bernies vibe.

Perhaps the most concise way to think about this is that Musk has pranced around bragging about cracking down on fraud and abuse, finding the bad guys. Meanwhile what he's actually done is enable perhaps the biggest splurge of fraud and tax cheating in history. For him and his pals.
